He broke into a smile. "You remember me."
"How could I possibly forget someone who tried to buy me. Several times. Seriously do you have nothing better to do." I said deadpan.
"So I'm guessing you still don't want to marry me? You know, it took a while to track you down."
"Still no." Then it hit me, something I hadn't tried before. I can just make up a boyfriend to dissuade him. A grin threatened to split my face but I snatched back control. "It's actually because I have a boyfriend." I said the corners of my mouth twitching in amusement when his face contorted to look like he was going through an identity crisis. "Yeah, so I'm afraid you can't pursue me anymore." When I left, he looked shell shocked. It seemed to work pretty well.
In hindsight maybe I should have considered who he thought my boyfriend was.
I sauntered home with a pep in my step. I think I was finally free of Charlie. I was almost tempted to pull the same thing with Peter until I remembered that werewolves will totally invite you to bring your partner into their group.
I placed my hand on the front door knob to turn it. My stomach dropped. We always turn it back about a 1/4 so we can tell if someone broke in. It was at rest. Someone was either in the house or had been.
I reached into the shrub near the door and pulled out a bat. I always had one stored here since the last time this happened. I creeped through the door, bat poised to swing. I heard talking from in the kitchen. I stalked towards the noises. When I got close enough I heard "You boys are so nice!"
It's worse then I thought, no one had broken in or kidnapped mom. It was another group of kids who were helping my mom. Which only meant one thing, they were here to get me to join whatever group/cult they were a part of. I put the bat down and walked into the kitchen to face my enemy.
This time it was a male k-pop group. These are always difficult to deal with because they are always so nice.
