"To all the days we were together. To all the time we were apart, of eachothers lives. Heart to heart."
------------------------------------------------------------
Empty.
That was all Ney'lana could describe what she was feeling. She couldn't cry anymore. If she couldfrel anything, she would have probably giggled at the fact that not that long ago, she couldn't stop crying. She cried because her father and uncle were fighting, which now that she thought about was a pretty stupid reason to cry compared to everything else, she cried when her father told the whole clan, including her family, that he was working with the sky people still and that he knew they would take their home. She cried when her home was being torn down, with her right under it, and she cried because her sister and grandfather had died.
But now that Jake had announced Grace was dying, she didn't know if she actually wanted to cry or not. At some point, she thought something was wrong with her. She tried to force the tears out, but nothing happened.
She was dried up.
Tierd.
Emotionless.
And seeing her dead sister tripped her up even more. So she made sure to keep her bow and newly sharp pointy arrows on her, just in case anything happens.
Tarsem wasn't too far away from her. He made sure to keep close in case he had to comfort her when nobody was near. He was talking to himself, trying to gain the courage to ask his older brother, Tsu'tey, and Neytiri if he could take Ney'lana on a quick walk. He knew that Tsu'tey was very protective, as the older brother was always protective of Tarsem himself, so he knew for a fact that Tsu'tey would be on high alert when it came to Ney'lana.
And Neytiri. Tarsem had always been scared of the women. She was always so sweet and kind to her kids, but he knew she was also very protective and could get very angry. He once seen her threaten Omare that if he kept touching Sey'lana and making fun of her, she'd feed his limps to her Ikran. Omare made sure to stay far away from Neytiri since then.
Tarsem stopped his mumbling and walked up to the Olo'eyktan and future tsahik. He made sure to clear his throat a few times when he was walking towards them so his voice would sound stronger.
"Excuse me, brother, Neytiri. I was wondering if I could take Ney'lana on a walk, and we will make sure to stay close to the clan."
Tsu'tey looked over at Neytiri after a few seconds. It was her choice. Neytiri looked over at Ney'lana, who just sat there. She looked miserable. Neytiri wanted to say no. She wanted to keep her daughter close to her and make sure she was safe. But she knew she should let Tarsem take the young girl. He could probably get her to talk more.
She simply nodded her head yes and watched the young boy walk towards her daughter. She was glad it was Tarsem who cared about her daughter so much. He would protect her. Even though Neytiri was a hundred percent sure Ney'lana could protect herself and Tarsem at the same time, it was good to know she wasn't alone.
