A/N - Okay, now this one is the longest chapter, but I think it's worth it. It took me soo long to write.

Sometimes you both are in love and need time to acknowledge it. – Unknown

Kelsea POV

"I'm okay." Y/N chuckles as she gives Taylor and me the thumbs. Instantly Taylor and I are doubled over laughing at Y/N, who tripped over the coffee table in Taylor's dressing room. The way her body catapulted over the top, sending lettuce, croutons, and cheese from her salad flying, and now her legs were sticking up from behind it as she lays on the floor. Knowing we are about to surprise the crowd here in Brisbane, she hasn't touched any alcohol, so there is no excuse besides her clumsiness.

"I can't believe I got that on video." I chuckle while trying to stifle my laughter and hold my phone. "Do you need a hand?"

Taylor tries to stifle her laugh as she walks over to help her up. "You know you're supposed to eat the salad, not wear it." Y/N groans and mumbles something into the floor, and I don't quite catch it as she's talking to the ground.

I walk over to help Taylor. "Sorry, couldn't quite get that?" Helping her to her feet, she brushes herself off.

"Oh, you know I was just making a flying Caesar salad." She chuckles, and Taylor and I shake our heads.

"Um, pretty sure that isn't how you do it, and I don't think that is even a thing." I chuckle as the three of us sit on the plush sofa.

"You going to post that video or social media blackmail?" She chuckles, "It was pretty funny. I wouldn't blame you."

I laugh, "I may post it, but not until after we surprise Brisbane." I beam with a bright smile as Taylor slings her arms around our shoulders and embraces us. Y/N and I rest our foreheads on hers.

"I needed this," Y/N's voice comes out in a slight whisper, but it's laced with heartbreak. She's been in love with Scarlett since she met her, maybe even before, with how she talks about her previous movies. Perhaps Scarlett is why no one Y/N's been with has stuck around long enough, or maybe no one ever fought for her. Y/N and I met in 2015 when I performed at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time, and somehow, we became close friends ever since.

Although it took her a long time to tell me, she and Taylor used to date. She said they had a challenging relationship, and in her words, maybe it was destined to fail. They met in Vancouver. Y/N bumped into her in a coffee shop and spilt coffee all over her clothes. Taylor brushed it off, but Y/N insisted on returning to her apartment to get her clean clothes and wash the stains off. While Y/N had listened to Taylor, she was so focused on making it right that she had no idea she had taken this new country artist to her apartment. When Y/N finally clued in, she apologized profusely and really genuinely didn't know. Taylor brushed it off, and they started talking and hanging out often. Y/N told me she finally got the courage to ask Taylor out thirteen months later. They dated long-distance for over a year, but Y/N wasn't ready with the Tabloid Rumors about whom she was dating. She'd be spotted hanging out with a guy every few months and make headlines.

Y/N told me that some days those headlines were covers to keep the news off the scent of them dating. During that time, two females dating wasn't widely accepted, so they hid their love. Eventually, the long-distance relationship and tabloids started to take their toll, but it wasn't until nearly a year after Y/N met Scarlett that Taylor and her had their last kiss and last fight that they broke it off. Taylor would go on to date Taylor Lautner while Y/N found someone else. I've never kept in touch with my exes or become friends, but somehow Y/N and Taylor did. Perhaps because of those thirteen months of being only friends, they developed a close bond which helped them keep that connection.
