The strength of a family, like the strength of an army, lies in its loyalty to each other. – Mario Puzo

Y/N POV

"IT'S CHRISTMAS! SANTA CAME!" I hear Rose yell. The pitter-patter of her little fit stomping on the wooden floorboards fills my ears. My eyes are still closed as I bury my face further into the crook of Scar's neck. She chuckles softly, which makes my heart flutter. I know we are trying to keep the PDA to a minimum in front of Rose, but Scarlett's warm body calls me, and I don't want to let go. We still aren't official and are scared of what Rose will think at her age, but she's an intelligent kid, so she knows something is up.

I hear the door open, and Rose's feet grow closer. "Wake up, Mama." Her voice is loud, and I quietly sigh in Scarlett's ears, not wanting to move. I let out a loud groan and yelp while my whole body shoots up in pain when Rose jumps on the bed, landing on my bad leg. Tears form in my eyes. Scarlett sits up and quickly intervenes by moving Rose in between us. Rose scampers in her arms, "Momma." Her voice comes out in a scared cry, burying her head in Scar's neck. My leg is throbbing; every throb shoots pain up my side. I start rubbing it in the hopes of dispersing the pain. Scar rocks Rose back and forth, trying to console her. My heart drops when I realize Rose is scared that I'm mad at her.

"Rose," My voice is warm, soft and low as I rub her back, hoping to get her to unbury her head, but she tries to bury her head deeper. Scar gives me a sympathetic look as she twists her body slightly to give me more access to Rose. I tuck Scar's hair behind her ears and then do the same to Rose's. Her eyes are shut tight, "Sweetheart. I'm not mad."

"You promise." Scarlett's shoulder muffles her voice, but it's loud enough that I can hear her.

A small smile breaks across my face, "I pinky promise." She lifts her head, turning to look at me with her beautiful ocean-blue eyes. "There's my little princess." She sniffles as my small smile turns into a larger one, trying to comfort her.

"I'm sorry." She sniffs, and I wipe away the snot from her nose.

"It's okay, sweetheart. Accidents happen. Just have to be more careful with your wake-up calls." I chuckle. Leaning, I start pelting her with kisses all over her face. She starts to giggle. My eyes meet Scar's momentarily, and something shifts in her gaze. Her emerald eyes sparkle with unconditional love, and I get lost in her ocean eyes as my heart skips a beat. At this moment, I want nothing else in life. She and Rose are my home; I couldn't imagine being elsewhere.

The three of us stay in bed a few minutes longer before Rose gets restless. She pulls away from Scar, taking both of our hands in hers and starts to pull. "Come on, Mommas." My ears perk up at the sound of the eyes, and I look at Scar to see if she noticed, too or if I am hearing things. She gives me a warm smile, and we have a quiet conversation with our eyes, and I can tell she heard it, too. Although, I'm not going to read too much into it since we aren't anything official, and Rose probably didn't even know what she said. Plus, we haven't talked to Rose about what this is, but truthfully, I still don't know what this is. However, it changed something in me. I wasn't Auntie Y/N or just Y/N at this moment.
