DLSU ST. BENILDE, 2017.

“Justin, may bisita ka!” I heard one of Justin's familiar blockmates yell as they exited the cafeteria, all with a foolish smile and smirk on their faces.

“Sana lahat pinupuntahan,” one of them added, and their comments made me shake my head and chuckle.

They're always like this, and I'm used to it by now as much as I'm sure they're used to seeing me come here at St. Benilde whenever I have the time to come and get Justin instead of him traveling to Greenhills, even when he's always busy.

It's Friday, which means it's time for our friendly date night. Since we met, we've kept that one tradition. That is, we will go wherever we want at the start of the weekend to get away from the stress, or will sometimes study or work on projects together. But we barely do that things this month of the year since he's busy with his thesis and also because he's now a trainee for a certain entertainment company.

“Tara, wala d'yan si Justin,” Ate Xi-Anne murmured, dragging me away from the cafeteria.

“Ha? E sabi ni Ian…”

“Joke lang 'yon. Nasa room pa si Jah kasi may tinatapos lang daw siya,” she explained.

Ate Xi-Anne is the best sister I've never had. She is always there for us, especially Justin. The best girl, and also the most talented girl I've ever known. She always made sure I got here safely and that I was walking in the right directions on their campus.

“Xi-Anne!” someone called out, making us both stop on our track. “Need ka raw nila Ali sa gymnasium ASAP.”

“Ha? Bakit daw? Akala ko ba kaya na nila mag-organize do'n?” Ate Xi asked and then turned to face me. “Alam mo naman kung saan pupunta 'di ba?”

I nodded. “Same building at same room lang naman 'di ba? Basta 'di siya aalis do'n.”

"Yup! Hindi 'yon aalis,” she reassured. “Sorry, Kie, may need lang gawin para sa mga upcoming program e.”

I nodded in understanding. “G lang. I can go there on my own naman, Ate Xi. Ingat kayo sa byahe ha!”

“Sige, message me if you're leaving the campus na lang!”

With that, I watched them leave; I'm not good with directions, but Justin's building is the only one I recall. The afternoon sun shed a warm glow over the university grounds as I strolled through the building's doors and along the corridor, my footsteps echoing softly until I arrived in the room where Justin was meant to be right now.

Sobrang sipag talaga ni Jah. Sa school pa ata tinatapos schoolworks niya. Nahiya naman ako.

I peeked through the door window of their room; some of his blockmates were still inside, so I hesitated and decided to just text him and wait outside, but an unfamiliar face suddenly opened the door and greeted me with a smile, so I smiled back and stepped back a little.

“Oh! Hi there? You must be Kiera, right?” a stranger welcomed me with a friendly smile, as the door closed behind him.

Ang gwapo nito naman. Kilala mo ba 'to, Jah? 'Di mo man lang sinasabi na may kilala kang ganito ka-gwapo.
