Oahu, HawaiiHannah bit her lip as she walked through the airport. Her trip to London had been a mess. She ran her fingers through her hair. The conversation over coffee with Christian echoed in her mind. Hannah had almost caved into him, but she pulled herself together. He had been horrible at dinner, mocking her engagement and telling everyone about Tara. The anger in her stomach bubbled until her face was flushed red with anger.
Not even choosing her wedding dress could completely put out the fire. Hannah was in love with her dress. It was perfect for her beach wedding, and she knew that Hunter would love it. She thought back to her appointment. Ava had been very helpful in bringing her vision to life. But the roses. The offer of mailing fake roses with her wedding dress just reminded Hannah how she was not marrying Christian. She wasn't marrying her first love. She wasn't going to spend her life with the soccer player she had spent most of her life loving.
She let out a heavy sigh. Hunter never got her roses even though he knew she loved them. He was always trying to make himself stand out from Christian. Hannah knew he was insecure about the bond that she would always have with Christian simply due to their time together.
"Hannah!"
She jerked her head around. She tilted her head, surprised to see Jules. Hannah couldn't hide the frown that crossed her face. Jules' smile faded a little bit too.
"Hey, Julesy."
"I know you were probably expecting Hunter, but he had to go back home to film with Guido," Jules explained using his nickname for his uncle.
"Oh," Hannah nodded slowly, "okay."
"Do you wanna head out there? They'll be back in two days."
"No it's okay."
Jules threw his arm around her shoulders, "so. Gotta ask. You wore your ex-boyfriend's teammate's jersey to the game and not your cousin's. How'd that go?"
She just simply shrugged. She knew Mason well from the time that she spent in London after Christian transferred to Chelsea. Hannah and Mason were friends. He always flirted with her harmlessly. Christian didn't like it, but he knew that Hannah would never stray.
"You know, pictures of you and Christian holding hands while having coffee and then you crying on the street with him sitting next to you were published."
"Great," Hannah's voice oozed with sarcasm as she rolled her eyes.
"What happened?"
"I went there to ask him not to make a scene at my wedding, and he wanted to talk about the past. It was too much," she explained switching the hand that was pulling her carry on, "oh and he grabbed my hand. I wasn't holding on to him."
"Okay. Hunter was pissed."
"Of course," she rubbed her face, "I felt sick after that. I almost didn't go because I couldn't stop throwing up after I talked with Stella."
"Sorry, Han. You feeling okay now? You look kinda pale."
"I got motion sickness from Seattle to here."
"I thought you went through LAX?"
"I was going to, but the best flight home was through Seattle after I extended my trip."
"Hunter's pissed about that, by the way. He thinks you wanted more time with Christian."
Hannah let out a harsh laugh, "hardly. I went wedding dress shopping with Stell and G."
