Hunter's POV
Hershey, PennsylvaniaHunter looked over at Hannah with a soft smile. His girlfriend looked radient. The sun made her look like she was glowing. He squeezed her hand and kissed her cheek. She turned and gave him one of her perfect smiles.
"I'm excited to meet Stella," he murmured.
"Oh she's so excited to meet you too!"
"Have you dated anyone besides her brother?"
"Ah no. We'd been on and off for nine years," Hannah ran her fingers through her hair.
Hunter's stomach clenched. Nine years was a long time to be with someone. He knew that they had been friends much longer than that. He had seen pictures of them from when they were small kids. No matter how well he treated Hannah, she would always have a history with Christian he wouldn't be able to match.
"And she's excited to meet me?"
"Oh yeah! I've been telling her about you. Plus, she saw the pictures of us at the Warriors game. She's my best friend, and she wants me to be happy."
Hunter nodded, "well, I hope I do make you happy."
"You do," Hannah leaned her head on his shoulder. She squeezed his hand.
"Good," he smiled.
The car pulled to a stop in front of the restaurant. It was called Fenicci's of Hershey. Hannah said it was Stella's fave Italian restaurant. Hunter was excited to try it.
Hunter got out and held his hand out for Hannah. She accepted and stepped out carefully. She was in big stiletto heels that she paired with a pretty sundress. Even in the heels, she was still quite a bit shorter than him. Hunter like it like that however.
He walked to the door and opened it for her. The two of them walked in, and he immediately liked it. The lighting was low and welcoming. Italian music was quietly playing in the background. The aroma was mouthwatering.
"HANNAH!" A screech shattered the quiet atmosphere.
"STELL!"
Hunter looked down at Hannah, shocked at the decibel that she had just produced. He was even more shocked when she started running full speed towards her best friend. The two girls began squealing and hugging each other. They were taking so fast, Hunter couldn't pick up a single proper word. Hannah took Stella's hand and walked her back over to where he was awkwardly standing.
"Stell, this is my boyfriend, Hunter. Hunter, this is my best friend, Stella."
"Nice to meet you, Stella," Hunter smiled and held his hand out.
"You as well," she smiled.
Hunter looked Stella over. She looked a lot like Christian. They both had dark brown hair with defined cheekbones. Stella was the same height as Hannah in her heels which probably put the other girl around 5'6. Stella's brown eyes were bright and sparkled.
"I've heard a lot about you," Stella giggled.
"Stell!" Hannah gasped and gently pushed her.
"It's true!"
Hannah started giggling as well, "shut up."
"Nah, bitch."
Hannah rolled her eyes and took his hand. He squeezed her hand and kissed her cheek. Stella watched them with a soft smile. They were lead back to their booth. Hannah slid in, and Hunter sat next to her. He laid a hand on her leg. Stella sat across from them with a big grin.
"So. How did you meet?" Stella tilted her head.
"In Hawaii," Hannah looked over at Hunter, "I was on the phone with you, actually, screaming and crying about Christian. Hunter came over and offered to take me for shave ice."
"I took her to my favourite place, and then we just kept talking. We exchanged numbers, and yeah," Hunter squeezed her leg.
"When did Hunter ask you out, officially?"
"When we went to the Met and saw Giselle. He asked me out before the show started," she leaned her head on his shoulder.
Stella nodded thoughtfully. Even though she was excited for her best friend, Hunter could see some reservation in her eyes. Hunter knew she was probably thinking about her older brother.
"How was your first year at Villanova?" Hannah asked.
"It was great! I've started talking to someone, actually."
"Really?" Hannah perked up, "you never told me!"
"I know," Stella blushed.
"Hi, I'm Joseph, and I'll be your waiter. What can I get you to drink?"
"Can I please have a coke?" Stella asked.
"Of course."
"Can I please do a sprite?" Hannah asked.
"Of course, and for you, sir?"
"I'd like a glass of the sparkling rosé, please."
"Right away."
"So tell me more about your man."
"He's not my man, officially, but we have been on a few dates."
"What's his name?" Hannah pressed.
"Collin."
"Okay okay. Where did you meet?"
"I was interviewing him about basketball," Stella blushed.
"Oh you got yourself a baller, hm?" Hannah teased.
"You know I like ballers," Stella waved a hand.
"Mhm," Hannah nodded, "sure do know that. Why do you think we're best friends?"
Hunter chuckled to himself. He enjoyed the evening getting to know Hannah's best friend. She glowed when she was with Stella. They completed each other.
"It was so nice to meet you," Stella gave Hunter a big when they were standing outside.
"You as well, Stella. I hope to see you soon."
"Absolutely."
