Everything Is Perfect...Right? Chapter 22

( Finney's POV )

I slowly wake up looking outside only to see as usual the sun is still set. I go over to my phone checking the time. 5:00, I only got a couple of hours of sleep. I thought, it was plenty. I then got out of bed heading straight to the shower.

As I did I thought about yesterday and how I kissed a boy I wasn't even sure had feelings for me. I turned the water on, I turned the knob so it was right in the middle. I undressed before getting in the shower. After a couple minutes I finished.

I got out drying myself off and then quickly changed into my uniform. I got out of the bathroom while still drying my hair. Now it is 5:56.  

I Grabbed my phone before plopping on my bed. I felt like I had been there for hours until I heard a knock on the door. Confused I went downstairs opening the door. "Why are you here?" I ask confused but also annoyed.

Billy was standing there right in front of me his car keys were in his hands he looked as though he rushed to be here. "I wanted to apol-" Before I let him finish the sentence I slammed the door shut on him. 

I turned only to see Gwen trying to hold in laughter. "Was that Billy?" she says. "Yeah?" I say. "Well he better up his game to date you. Plus I thought Billy was your Best friend." Gwen said walking over to the couch and plopping down.

"I mean were I guess having a break. We got in a big fight yesterday, and I just don't feel the big need to show my feelings if he isn't showing his feelings." Gwen nods before looking at the Tv she turned on.

"Me and Amy got in a fight yesterday too..." Gwen said slightly nervously. I turned to her almost confused. "She said I wasn't communicating that much. And I tried to... It's just dad, and the bullies..." Gwen began crying. I scooted over to her hugging her tight. 

"Don't worry, you're not the only kid getting crap. I get it all the time. Plus people think me and Robin Arellano had sex. But we kissed last night. But I don't know if he actually meant it." Gwen's mouth slightly parted her eyes were wide. "We need to talk more often." Gwen said laughing.

" But anyways dad won't be home in like a couple of weeks. And he left like zero food in the house. No surprise there, I'll go shopping today!" I raise my eyebrows at her. "Last time you went food shopping for us you bought like only cotton candy and ice cream."

"That was old me." "That was basically 2 months ago." I say chuckling. "Yeah, old me. " she soon begins laughing again. "Okay, well I'm going to go to school now just so I can get there in time. "What are you going on, a grandma scooter?" Gwen says laughing. I glared at her before grabbing my skateboard. "Yep totally." I say rolling my eyes.

"Okay be good while I'm gone." I say before grabbing my bag and house keys. "BYE!" Gwen yells as I shut the door. Before I could even get on my skate board Billy's truck was still parked infront of our house. "Fuck this." I mumble before taking off quickly towards school.

And I was lucky enough for Billy not to see  me. As I was skating it brought me to the thought about Robin. Did he actually mean that kiss... Or was he just drunk and messed up. 

I decided on going the longer way only so I could see the ocean. But I mean I had plenty of time so I wouldn't be late at all. I ran my hand through my hair. It was still damp.

By the time I got to school I was practically looking for Robin, I didn't find him though. I entered the classroom only to see Billy and Vance in there. Confused I sat in my normal seat before turning to look at Vance. 

"Why are you here?" I ask confused still. "I got in a fight, but there letting it slide, because they heard Tommy being a dickhead.So I get to leave tomorrow. Billy gets to leave in a week. Robin has to stay extra time because he's on strike two so another month for him." Vance says leaning back in his chair. "I slowly nod before Robin enters the classroom.

He takes a quick glance at Billy and Vance avoiding me. Not really bothered. He approaches his usual seat but dodges it sitting two rows behind me. I blink before turning giving Robin a confused look.

He just looks down avoiding my stare. I turn back lowering my head. Did I do something. Vance lightly kicks my chair. Slightly annoyed I turned around once again looking at him. "What's up with you and him." Vance says nodding his head towards Robin. "I don't know-" Before I could finish my sentence the teacher came in.

"Okay, so today is a work day only, you hear me. And not school work. You will all be assigned in groups of four, and will be cleaning and decorating the gym for the Winter ball. Now get to work, no messing around." The teacher said before walking out. "And just to make it easier for me you guys are all a group." Then she left.

I quickly got up before leaving the classroom. I walked up to the teacher. "Can I hang up the posters and stuff outside. "Yes, go do that." I nodded while walking to the main entrance. I grabbed the box turning around to see both Billy and Robin looking in my direction.

I then met eyes with Robin who looked away quickly. 

Maybe screw what I thought last night before going to bed, nothing is perfect. I turned around opening the door to the main entrance leaving catching one last glimpse of Robin staring at me...
