Chapter 8, Wedding Bells

We were nearly done with all our wedding preparations this past week. It had to be fast because Christmas was on its way here! I could hardly wait to marry Crawl. His family was flying in from Germany this Thursday.

Mom and I decided to decorate the house top to bottom for Christmas just like my granny used to have this place. I loved Christmas time. And I loved Crawl. Perfect time to wed then.

I was getting more and more nervous about meeting Crawl's parents. Would they really like me? I mean we were not as rich as they were. We would seem like country bumkins to these people.

I sighed as I tried not to over think things. Crawl had yet to find any real dirt on Professor Pervert. Just that he liked his women younger. And I seemed to be his next target. That was never gonna happen either!

Zak brings in more wedding rsvps as well as Christmas cards. He hands me some. I got one from our old college. And one from Tracy. My heart stops a sec. One from Travis....one from his family. I frown as I open the one from him.

It reads:

Dearest Rebecca,
Remember when we had our first kiss under the mistletoe here at my parents? When we had our first year in high school?

I will never let go of moments like that with you. I have so much love in my heart for you still! If you dump Crawl. Come back to me I promise I will forgive you if you can forgive me. Think it over!

I can give you anything you want in this life. Don't make a mistake by throwing away our past love. Please Becca. I miss you so much it hurts. I'm changing for you. I haven't called or come by. Please call me. I miss you....

Love Only Yours,
Travis

I save the card in case I wanted to press charges on him for bothering me. I open his moms card. She sent us one every year. A family photo. By the tree. It read "Wasn't the same without you in this picture Becca, happy holidays".

I look over the large family. I notice someone.  Was that my professor in the photo? It reads all the names on back bottom of the card. Sure enough there he was! He was Travis uncle! How had I not known?

I probably only met him a few times so I didn't see it was him. I was sure from the start he knew me! I gasp. I had older photos his mom sent of cards. I had to get them, I grabbed my moms old tin filled with old cards.
