Night was starting to fall when a fluffy white head emerged from between the branches of an old pine tree, snow falling to the ground from the disturbance. Voices in the distance had the foxes ears perk up in alarm. The hunters were getting closer. Glancing around, it's blue eyes glowed as they searched the area. The hunters were a good distance away yet, a group of six in dark clothing. She should have time to run, her snow white fur would help hide her further.
Slowly the Arctic fox crept from her hiding spot and started to run north. She just needed to get away, find somewhere to hide where they wouldn't find her. She soon found herself running across an open snow covered field with no cover. Hearing loud voices behind her she risked a glance behind, the hunters had spotted her and were in pursuit. She wouldn't let them capture her again.
Her heart beat fast in her chest as she ran faster. Suddenly she heard twigs cracking and snow crunching all around her. Stopping, she looked around. Figures in black were surrounding her, guns pointed. Five of the figures stepped forward warily as she let out a menacing growl, teeth bared and back arched, turning in slow circles. These men held different guns than most of the others. Tranquilliser guns.
