Jules maneuvered a roundhouse kick to the punching bag, taking out her frustrations and stress out on the inanimate object. The last few days had been hotter than a jalapeno's coochie and also one of the busiest shifts she had worked. Between a guy's arm being completely blown off his body, a road rage incident that caused a touring vehicle to swerve off the road and finally an explosion at a local tamale shop, Jules had enough of the public's idiocy to last a lifetime. The feeling of her soul leaving her body in sweat form was, however, the cause of her impatience. You'd think someone who was raised in Texas for most of her life would be used to the heat. But Texas heat was different than California heat. Sure, Texas is far hotter than California on any given day, but when California got hot, it came with a vengeance.

Out of the corner of her eye she could see Bobby, Hen, Chimney and Buck gathered in a circle conversing. Her FOMO mentality caused her to end her assault on the punching bag and join the gang. Wiping the sweat from her face and neck with a navy blue towel, she strode up to her best friend.

"Hey my gossip girls what's the hot 4-1-1?" Jules asked propping her elbow on Buck's shoulder and taking a sip from her water bottle.

"The sexist LAFD calendar. These guys are going to enter that offensive contest," Hen rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, I hate those things. They always show off how 'sexy' the men are in this field, posing with a dalmatian between their legs or a hose spraying full blast as if to give off the image of his ejaculation. Not to mention you never see women firefighters in a calendar." There was no hiding her disgust as Jules put air quotes at the word sexy.

"Not you too Jules. It's for charity," Bobby attempted at reasoning.

"Really Bobby?" Hen asked incredulously.

"What? They say a man is at his sexiest at 50."

"Now you guys are both wrong. I think sorority houses all across this great nation are ready for a new Asian sex symbol," Chimney proclaimed

"You know, I think it's great that you both are going up for it," Buck said addressing Chim and Bobby.

"Oh, because you don't think that we stand a chance," Bobby feigned offense.

"Noooo, did I say that? But let's be real, they are only picking one candidate from each station."

"I mean, you wouldn't be my first choice Buck. You know, maybe I should enter this thing? I've been working on these abs all year," Jules joked while pulling up her tank top to reveal her black sports bra and newly forming four pack.

Hen wolf whistled at the brunette as Jules flexed her muscles for the guys.

"Woah, that is one beautiful man," Chimney commented looking behind Buck and Jules. At first Jules was going to reply with a sarcastic remark at being called a man, until she realized he wasn't talking about her but to someone behind her.
