After such a long week, Ccino could hardly take it anymore. He began to feel worse and worse. Nightmare walked into the cafe, making Ccino's head raise as he greeted Nightmare. "Hello, welcome back to the Cafe!" Despite some time to practice, his greeting still didn't sound very happy. Nightmare held back a smirk, but then part of him almost felt pity for Ccino. Nightmare shook his head slightly and walked over to the counter to order. "Black coffee." Ccino nodded and went into the kitchen. The coffee pot already had a hot brew in it. Ccino poured the smoky coffee into the cup. He then rushed it out to Nightmare with a nervous smile on his face. Nightmare smirked and put the brim of the cup to his mouth to take a sip. A pained look crossed his face and he set the cup down, it was still scalding hot. Ccino had a worried look on his face. "Sorry, I forgot to warn you..." Nightmare knew that it wasn't his fault but he fed off of the negativity Ccino was producing. Nightmare put on a glare in Ccino's direction. He stood up, accidentally knocking the cup over. Due to how close he was... Ccino ended up getting splashed by it. Ccino winced in response, though, he hardly even flinched. Nightmare felt his chest sink with guilt, but he refused to let Ccino see that. "You're lucky I didn't do that on purpose." He said with a scoff. Ccino nodded, grabbing the mop that was nearby. He mopped it up with his head bowed. "Do you... Want another one? It should be called down a bit by now." He asked anxiously. Nightmare nodded. "That would be much appreciated." Ccino rushed to the kitchen to pour some coffee for the goop-covered skeleton. Before Nightmare left he insisted on paying for both coffees. Not only to ease his guilt but also to build his relationship with Ccino. This would be so Nightmares could use him more often. On his way out, Nightmare left a little note on Ccino's counter. He looked at the note briefly before putting it in his pocket to read later.
Soon it would be closing time and the brown-eyed skeleton closed up for the day. Ccino hauls himself up the stairs with a sigh. After filling the cat bowls, having one less missing now, he decides to read the note. He sat down on his couch and unfolded the note. It was Nightmare's phone number. He smiled, that must've meant that he wanted to talk to him more. Ccino added his contact to his fairly empty phone number list. He only had contact with Outer and the Stars, who rarely visited. Then, he sent a text, "Hi Nightmare, it's Ccino." He sat there for a few minutes, waiting for the reply, if there would be one. His phone had turned off by the time he heard the ding. He checked it, with excitement filling him. "Alright, thanks." That was the reply but there was another one he was typing. He waited for it eagerly. "Want to meet up at OuterTale tomorrow?" He beamed at the response and immediately responded with a yes before asking the time. Nightmare responded with, "After you're done with work and clean up the place." Ccino responded with an "Alright" and remembered that he had to clean up the cafe downstairs. He couldn't wait for tomorrow... He no longer felt much of a pit in his nonexistent stomach.
