Sam is radiant. Blonde, royal blue eyes, strawberry lips, coral fingernails, blinding smile. His laugh is beautiful and light and Colby feels a rush, even as Sam locks lips with someone else.
Colby is watching Sam. Jake tells him he likes his new hair color, recalling a comment about it that made him laugh. He laughs his fake laugh, that everyone knows damn well isn't real, Jake knows Colby, and he doesn't need to think about these things.
Colby chooses now to send a message to Demetri, and Jake only wishes Colby were bold enough to confess in that message to Sam.
