Later that day... (Still the same day as the last three chapters)

SIN'S POV

After dinner, I reunited all my courage and went to speak with Sage. She has to know what happened to Blaze.

Blaze's health suddenly declined last night, and she's now intubated. Whatever crazy drug they were drugged with made one last attempt on the child's life. Something I found weird since they haven't been in contact with it in so long. But the doctor said it 'might' be normal because she is undergoing detox and is only eleven days old.

"Every addict has a sudden relapse, once in a while, during their treatment." The motherfucker said, playing it off lightly like my granddaughter didn't almost die from her 'sudden relapse'.

I sent Jym and Claude to watch over her tonight while I speak with Sage and make sure she does not leave her bed.

My phone started ringing on my way up. The number was unknown, but I knew it could not have been a random call. Only some specific people have this phone number.

"Let's see what it is," I mumble and walk the rest of the way upstairs.

I just pray for no more disgrace.

"Sin, they caught me!" A voice out of breath said. "Keep a close watch on them! Don't let anyone unknown near the girls. Tell my goddaughter I love her, and tell Sage not to worry. I will die before I breathe a word to them." He promised in a rush, and I heard him start running.

"Where are you, boy?" I spoke for the first time since he called, paralyzed in the middle of the hallway, trying to digest this added trouble.

"It's too late, Sin."

"I'll send help, boy. Where are you?" I repeat the question to the stubborn fuck.

"I'm already far and surrounded. Goodbye, sir. It was nice to meet you." He spoke firmly and disconnected the call. At the last second, I heard men screaming at him in a foreign language.

"Fuck!" I didn't lose a second before my fingers were flying over the phone, screaming orders at Pest to track Vasco and John to tighten the security on the kids, Jym to warn him of what happened, my sons, my men, everyone was warned in the same hour, only my daughter was left for last.

"To confront the stubborn dragon, now..." I made the sign of the cross and sent a silent prayer to the heavens before entering her room and advanced fearlessly, forgetting to even knock on the door with the nerves I'm feeling.

Sage was sitting in her bed with a tablet in her hands. Hazel, Shauwn, Zeke, Cameron, and Antonio were all sitting around her, except for Cameron, who fell asleep on top of her extended legs. But the others, who were awake, were all focused on the tablet watching something.

"See there, you should have bent your knees a bit more to stabilize yourself better. And you, Antonio, should have watched her better. You knew she hated you. If this happened on the streets and she wanted you dead, with that first attack, you could have died. If she had a hidden knife, she could have easily stabbed you in the neck while you were distracted, waiting for a hit that would never come." Shauwn instructed them.

So they were revising the footage of the ring. I'll have to watch that later.

I almost had a heart attack when I came home and found her on the ring. No sane person would do or allow something like that after the injuries she sustained during the last few days!

"Pass forward, Hazel," Shauwn requested, and Hazel quickly messed with the feed, pinpointing the exact second Shauwn wanted to revise with them before he even had to point it out.
