Wednesday POV:
As I knocked on the door and entered Enid was wearing a pink tank top and a pair of sweatpant shorts. I felt the blood rush to my face again and winced, does this really mean I like her.

As I stepped into the room I saw how red her face was and before I could think I pressed my palm against her forehead, I could hear her breath pick up and I inches closer to her, I felt my stomach turn

She spoke like she was flustered and I felt rush of something, I don't know what though

I told her how red she was, that she looked sick and she replied once again, flustered,

"Well it's either that or your blushing"

As the words left my mouth I felt a wave of regret hit me, did I really just say that, what if this is all in my head and Enid felt nothing for me, what if I just ruined the one shot at a friendship I could get

She began so speak and I heard my breath
"Oh" she said, "yea"
I was about to let out a sigh of relief before she studdered and said

"I- I was texting with some guy that Yoko found for me"

As the words left her mouth I felt my heart sink

"Oh" my words felt harsh "well I'm glad your not sick"

I quickly took a step back before leaving the room and pulling out my phone.

Enid ran after me.

"Wednesday are you ok"

Her word dug deep

"Yep, I'm just tired"

I sat down on my bed and she sat next to me. I didn't know what to do so I just asked

"Who is it"

Enid looked surprised, "who"

"The boy Enid, who is it"

"I-"

Before Enid could reply my phone lit up, it was from Xavier

"What's that" Enid said her eyes darting to it, "Oh wens did you get someone's number" her eyes lit up and she went to see who it was

"Ooh Xavier, how's he been, can I see" she grabbed my phone and I didn't want to stop her because I was caught in the moment.

"Wait Enid you can't read it"

Her face froze and she turned to me. I could tell she was confused but I didn't know what to do

Before anything else happened another text popped up from Xavier

Xavier- Heyy wens, I was just wondering is you wanted to chat a bit more 🖤💛🖤
Enid turned to me and I could tell she was suprised

No POV:
"Is he flirting with you Wens" Enid leaned close to Wednesday, she didn't know what to say
"I don't think so" Wednesdays voice was cold and distant, Enid felt a sting in her heart and she wanted to grab Wednesday and hug her tight but she didn't.

"Oo is that why you didn't want me to see" Enid tried hard to mask her hurt with joy but Wednesday just sat there like she had seen a ghost, "I'm joking Wens I don't think y'all are dating"

"Um, Enid can you just look through the text and say if you think he's flirting, ignore what I type though" Wednesday started to fidget with her shirt. Enid nodded

As Enid read through the text she could feel her cheeks go bright red, reading what Wednesday said

"I think he's hitting on you Wens"

Wednesday suddenly felt a rush of anger, why is she letting Enid see her so vulnerable, this was to new to her, she didn't know what to do

"Well" she said, her brain racing " I guess it's good to keep options open"

She looked down and moved away from Enid before saying "I know you're probably wondering who I was asking him about though" Enid sighed and nodded before Wednesday continued "it's not a big thing though, I tried and" Wednesday paused again, her monotone voice carried as she talked "she um, she's seeing a guy"

Enid's eyes lit up "Ohh Wednesday", Wednesday stared at the ground and then inched closer to her
"Is-was it" Enid stumbles through her words and grabbed Wednesdays hand "Wednesday there's no boy, I lied" she put her hand on Wednesdays cheek and Wednesday didn't stop her. Before Enid could say anything else Wednesday grabbed her face

"Uh, can I" she looked around before letting her eyes land on Enid, "can I kiss you"

Enid nodded and for the first time their lips touched and for a moment they shared a soft kiss before Enid let go and backed into a corner

" I- I can't do this right now, I'm sorry, but I need to think this out"
