Morgan's POV
When I have a couple free days during my tour, I drive straight home to Nashville and then drive over to Megan's apartment. I knock on her door and call for her, but she doesn't answer.I figure that she probably has some spare key hidden underneath her welcome mat. I flip it up and find exactly what I'm looking for.
I go into Megan's apartment to find it empty. If Megan's not here then she's probably down in Georgia with her parents. I leave her apartment and lock the door behind me.
I get into my truck and start it up. I'm going back to Georgia.
Megan's POV
I play my guitar, singing a few words for a new song I'm working on."That sounds beautiful, Megan."
I look up and see Morgan standing on my parents' front porch. He looks extremely tired and I'm guessing it's because he drove here as quick as he could without making any stops.
"What're you doing here?" I ask. Morgan sighs.
"I came here to explain myself and I was hoping you'd listen," he replies. I nod.
"Okay. I'm willing to listen. Go ahead. Say your piece, Morgan."
Morgan sits down across from me and places his hand on mine.
"Megan, Kaley is my latest ex. The one who accused me of cheating on her. She came to the second night in Columbus, trying to win me back. She said she was sorry for not trusting me and that I should take her back. I told her to leave and she didn't listen to me. When I told her no again, she grabbed my face and kissed me. I didn't want her to kiss me, Megan. Do you believe me?" Morgan asks. I sigh and look into his blue eyes.
"Yes. I believe you, but... I'll only fully accept the apology after you sing me a song." I say with a smirk. Morgan laughs.
"Oh really? Well, got any requests, princess?"
"No. I'm gonna let you decide. Choose wisely, Morgan." I reply.
"Okay. I think I got the perfect song in mind,"
I hand Morgan my guitar and he starts playing the tune to one of his songs.
"I'm a simple man, ain't no other way to say it
Lay my cards on the table, only way I play it
I got some drawl in my y'all, they can't imitate it
Tough and rowdy reckless
Rough around the edges""Ever since you came around I've been
Thinking thoughts that I need to get out so I
I grabbed a pen and a napkin
And I wrote this down""My tractor's green, my pasture's greener
My tea's sweet but, honey, you're sweeter
And my road is dirt, your heart is gold
I'm a man of few words but, baby, here it goes
My neck is red, my collar's blue
And I love you""Yeah, I know it might sound a little elementary
Like a nursery rhyme straight up from the country
It won't pass for Shakespeare, girl, I know it
But I'ma pour my heart out like a back porch poet""My tractor's green, my pasture's greener
My tea's sweet but, honey, you're sweeter
And my road is dirt, your heart is gold
I'm a man of few words but, baby, here it goes
My neck is red, my collar's blue
And I love you""Yeah, I love your pretty smile
I love your skinny jeans
I love the fact that you fell for a good ol' boy like me
I love your long kiss
And I love your long hair
I wanna shout it out from the town square
That I love you
I love you, I love you"
