The ride was nice and smooth which came to a shock for you and Crowley both. From what Aziraphele has told you Crowley drove like a madman on bath salts.
Usually the Bentley is going no slower than 90mph no mater the distance or traffic.
A low hum of Killer Queen by Queen was playing which you quite enjoyed, you were a sap for classic/glam rock, and so was Crowley given his CD collection.
Velvet underground, The beetles, Queen, even a couple of Pink Floyd's which made you smile.
"I love your music taste."
You said happily, still picking through the collection and seeing a random Bach or Beethoven, probably the result of Aziraphele.
"Yea. Well most of them are no good anyway."
Crowley responded, picking up a Pink Floyd CD and popping it into the playing.
"What do you mean? Pink Floyd is great!"
You said with enthusiasm as he smiled and slowly shook his head.
"I see that Angel hasn't told you everything. Listen."
He instructed as the song 'The Great Gig in The Sky' came on, but instead of the vocals coming from Clare Torry, it was Freddy Mercury and the whole song over all had a much peppy-er feel to it.
"It's Queen?"
You asked a bit amazed as Crowley laughed, letting out a snorty inhale.
"Any music that stays in the Bentley for more than a fortnight gets changed to Queen. Not the Bach or Beethoven though, oddly enough."
You smiled and pet the glove box of the car, thinking that it was amusing and that it had a very nice taste in music.
"Well at least the Bentley has good taste. And seems to like Aziraphele."
You said with a smile as the Bentley came to a rolling stop, right in front of your shop.
"Oh! Before I forget!"
You happily exclaimed as you reached into the back of the car, dug around in your cardboard box that contained all your books and felt around.
The book in question, that you were looking for, was a bit thicker and bigger then all the others, it was a hard cover which helped.
You pulled a book from the box and held it on your lap.
"Aziraphele goes on and on about you, you know. He does seem like a really good friend."
You started, the words coming out more slowly then you would have liked. You turned to Crowley, meeting his gaze, which made him quickly put his glasses back on.
"The best, that Angel."
"Um, the main reason I- Um well..., well Aziraphele does talk a lot about you, mainly about your eyes."
You kept going, seeing Crowley's expression change, however you couldn't tell if it was for better or worse.
"He thinks they're the most beautiful thing in the world."
You saw Crowley's mouth turn upward into a smile.
"Um..the way he described them, seemed to be...almost snake like? And since seeing them the earlier today, I just-"
That comment made Crowley feel a tad self conscious, even if you didn't mean it that way, it was still a sensitive topic.
"I'm so sorry if that was a sensitive comment, I meant no foul intent."
His expressions softened as he listened to you.
Little did you know Aziraphele talked to Crowley about you too, about how you stutter when you're nervous, go off on tangents when you're trying to explain things, turn red when you're really happy, your extreme disgust in blue berries.
"I just wanted to-...here I am rambling."
Your hand began to twitch as you became more nervous, not wanting to come off as weird for the gift you were about to present.
"Um Anyway, he also mentioned how much you love the galaxy. Mainly the stars and the nebulas. ...but I also did a bit of research on my own, and found that snakes eyes don't provide the best vision."
There was a brief pause.
"When I placed a book order from Aziraphele, I also ordered you a book."
You handed Crowley the book that you had just dug out of the box, this time the book was upside down, once flipped over Crowley could properly see the title.
The book was titled:
Revealing the Heart of the Galaxy: The Milky Way and Its Black Hole by Robert H. Sanders.
Crowley carefully opened the book and flipped through the pages until one picture caught his eye. It was Alpha Centauri, well a rendition at least, but it very accurate nonetheless.
His eyes grew wide as he didn't smile, he didn't even react. You sat in the Bentley waiting for his reaction, which according to Aziraphele would be a hit or miss.
"It describes the galaxy and space in great detail, almost as if you're looking at it. It even includes pictures, which I'm more then sure you have. I thought it would be something you would quite enjoy."
You smiled happily, as you swept your hair out of your face and fixed your clothes.
Crowley still hasn't said a word, but it was okay.
"Well! I must be heading off. but if you fancy a chat you know where my shop is. And Aziraphele has even been to my house, if you wanted to stop by some time, I would really like to get to know you.
With the way Aziraphele talks about you it makes it hard to not like you already. He really does love you, you know."
You said which made Crowley's head shoot up.
"Anyway, I hope to see you soon, and please do let Aziraphele know that I really appreciated tonight."
You got out of the Bentley and collected your things, shutting the door with your hip as you smiled one last time before getting into your own car, starting in and being on your way.The Bentley didn't move from its place. Crowley was too busy looking at the pictures and reading a couple of pages that he soon found himself there for a good 20 minutes.
His phone began to ring as the called ID said 'Aziraphele', he answered.
"Are you alright Dear? You've been gone an awful long time."
With the 20 minutes to himself and the other 25 him and Y/n, well Y/n spent talking and examining the car, he had been gone awhile, and the drive was only supposed to be around the corner.
"I'm alright Angel, Y/n was checking out the Bentley and we had a chat after. I'm heading back to the book shop now."
"Oh great! I hope everything went well."
"Fantastic. I'll let you when I get back."
And just like that the conversation ended and the Bentley was back at it, going 90 down the road.
