"So..." Mary grinned, "Ivan asked me out." She said. Maeve gasped. "That's amazing!" She exclaimed. "When, where?" Maeve asked. "Well, we set the date for the 27th of May, and we are going to eat lunch together. He said he'd take care of everything." Mary smiled. "That is so sweet!" Maeve squealed. "And in two days already! It's sad I'll have to work that day." Mary nodded.

"We'll just pick out my outfit today." She shrugged, a big smile on her face. "Great idea." Maeve nodded.

The two were looking through Mary's closet, and Maeve held up a red jacket. "What if you wore this with some black jeans and a white top?" She said. Mary slowly nodded. "I have those." She smiled. "Let's try it out." She grabbed a white tanktop and black jeans.

"I love this! Not too casual, not too chic." Mary nodded as she twirled around in front of the mirror. "You look amazing." Maeve agreed. The doorbell rang, and Maeve ran off. A short while after she ran back, kissing Mary on the cheek. "It's so sad you can't join me on this dinner with the guys, but so be it. Love you, bye." Maeve ran off again, and Mary waved her goodbye with a smile.

She undressed in silence, back into her sweatpants and t shirt. She had been living in this, since she was working daily. Mary walked to the kitchen, grabbing the Tupperware container with some leftover salad. She got a fork and a can of sparkling water and walked back to her room.

Mary opened her laptop, taking a bite of her salad as she logged in. She laid her fork down and started typing. She was nearing the end of the story, but she had no idea how she was going to end it in a satisfying way. She had already had three endings in mind, dismissing all of them in a few hours.

An idea suddenly popped in Mary's head, and she started writing it down. She was aggressively typing, hoping not to forget the words she was thinking of right now.

Mary heard the frontdoor open and close, typing down the last few words of the story. The door to her room opened, "Hello!" Maeve announced her arrival. Mary turned around. "Hi." She smiled brightly. "How long have you been writing?" Maeve narrowed her eyes. "I've been gone for three hours."

Mary raised her eyebrows. "Three hours then. But, I did finish the story, so all that is left is rereading." She grinned. Maeve gasped. "That's amazing! I can't wait to read it!" Mary smiled.

"I am gonna go to bed now, because I need to be up early tomorrow. Wedding shoot." Maeve grinned. "Goodnight." She closed the door behind her. Mary sighed and closed her laptop. She quickly ate the last bites of her salad and downed the can. She walked to the kitchen to put her stuff away.

When she came back into her room, she fell down on her bed, opening her phone. Scrolling through tiktok a little, she put her phone on her bedside table and grabbed her laptop. Mary scrolled all the way up to the beginning of her story, starting to read. Here and there she saw some mistakes, and she quickly changed them.

Mary heard a knock on her door, and she looked up. "Yeah?" She said, her voice a little croaky. "I'm leaving- Why are you already up? It's 6:30 in the morning." Maeve frowned. "Oh yeah, I had motivation to work last night, so-" Mary started. "Last night? You've been reading the entire night?" Maeve raised her eyebrows. "I guess so. Otherwise I would've lost the motivation, that would be a shame." Mary grinned.

Maeve shook her head in disbelief. "Anyway, as I was saying, I'm leaving, I'll be back before dinner." She smiled and closed the door. Mary reread the last few sentences of her book, and closed her laptop.
