Being a Starkid

Please let me know what you guys think. This is my very first fan-fiction. I do not own any rights to Starkid, all of the credit goes to the amazing people who are actually a part of the productions. Thank you guys for everything!

"Did you get them?"

"No, I couldn't..."

"Come on Jen! Everybody is going!"

"I know..."

For the past few weeks, my school has been trying to get tickets to the Starkid tour. Starkid is a theater company created by a group of amazing college students and I am obsessed with their productions! They are my idols and I have to admit that I have a huge crush on one of them, Darren Criss. He is such an amazing musician and he is just so adorable with his beautiful eyes and his curly hair...

"Jen? Jen?!"

"Wha...what happened?"

"You zoned out...were you thinking about Darren again?"

"What? No, of course not!"

She could tell I was lying. That's the thing about best friends, they can always tell. Anne and I have been best friends for as long as I can remember and she has always known about my celebrity crush. She judges me for it. She keeps telling me that Joey is cuter. I disagree.

"But he is so much cuter than Darren! Just because Darren can play the guitar and has a lot of hair, does not mean he is cuter than Joey!"

"Yes it does!"

We continued our argument while walking home after school. This one argument started when we watched our first Starkid production together on youtube. It's called A Very Potter Musical and it has changed both of our lives.

"Well, I'll see ya later!" I yelled once we made it to my neighborhood.

You would think that being such close friends, we would live closer to each other. However, she lives a few blocks from me. Anyways, the big Starkid tour is coming into town this weekend and I still don't have tickets! I'm ashamed, all of my friends will be going without me! This will be the only time I can ever see the Starkids perform live and Darren Criss will be there! Ahh...nerd moment!

"Jen! What is wrong with you today?"

Crap! I really need to stop zoning out like that...I might miss something important.

"Sorry Mom, I was just thinking about the Starkid tour this weekend."

"Did you get tickets?"

"No...they were sold out when I went online..."

"I'm sorry, honey..."

"It's alright Mom, I will go next year."

My Mom walks to the other side of the counter and pulls out an envelope.

"I got you this, just in case," she said handing me the envelope.

"Um...thanks." I replyed taking the envelope from her. No. Freaking. Way. Inside the envelope were three tickets tickets to the Starkid tour this weekend.

"No way! This is so totally awesome Mom! Thanks so much!"

"I figured you might need some, so I ordered some for the family. There are also some backstage passes in there too."

Ok. Now I must be dreaming. There is no way that there are any backstage passes in this envelope. But sure enough, there they were, right there next to the tickets.

"I get to meet Starkid!" I sang, skipping around the kitchen.

It was official. My Mom is the greatest! Now if only this week could go faster...
