Annabeth's POV
When I got to the hideout, Percy was there. He embraced me in his arms and we kissed passionately.
"Percy, I missed you so much!" "Oh Annabeth, I will NEVER let us be separated ever again!"
For a few hours, we just stayed there,wrapped in each others arms, not wanting to let go.
Percy was the first to speak up.
"Annabeth, I promise you, I will not let anyone separate us from one another. I will fight for you."
"But for what? Your family's lives have been put in danger because of me! That was the whole reason the engagement was called off! People are afraid others are gonna get hurt! That's all I cause! Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all! Maybe we just need to move on and forget we ever even loved each other."
With that I walked out, and went home. No one even noticed I left. I walked into my room, closed the door, then laid down on my bed, thinking and regretting what I had just done.
I tried to not think of percy, but he is all I an think about. When I see his face, all I see is gold.
