Jake had given his boys, especially Lo'ak, strict instructions as to not get into trouble on the island.

They did the exact opposite, of course.

So now, here they were, standing in front of their father who was screaming at them.

"What was the one thing I asked for?" Jake scolds. "The one thing!"

"Stay out of trouble." Both brothers mumble.

"Exactly!" Jake shouts, exasperated. Aria was walking past the marui, feeling the blood from her cut finally drying up.

She could hear Jake scolding the boys and immediately entered the marui.

"Jake, it's not their fault." She says, standing in between the brothers. Jake groans, pressing his fingers against his head.

"Aria. Please." Jake sighs. Aria could feel Lo'ak's eyes staring at her, but she ignored him.

"No, Jake. It's seriously my fault. Fish lips and his boyfriend were being assholes to me and Kiri. I said some... interesting things to them and then kicked Squidward in the balls. He pushed me and then Lo'ak and Neteyam joined in. They defended us, Jake." Aria explains quickly.

Jake sighs again and Aria notices how much older he was looking. She had never seen him so tired.

"I understand, Aria. But that was the chiefs' son! They already don't want us here, and these knuckleheads aren't making matters better." Jake says and Aria's eyes widen.

"Shit." The brunette states plainly. All men turn to look at her. "I said some real colourful things to Ao'nung. The chief probably hates me even more."

Jake rolls his eyes, tired. "Look, Lo'ak. Go apologize to Ao'nung."

Lo'ak's eyes widen. "What? He's the one who pushed Aria!"

"I know, but you need to go make peace. Again. You too, Aria." Jake commands and Aria lets out an audible groan.

"Fine." They both huff and stomp out of the marui.

"This is so dumb. Why's your dad so dumb?" Aria turns to Lo'ak. He sighs and shrugs in return.

They began their walk over to Ao'nung when Aria stops him all of a sudden.

"Wait, Lo." She says, placing her hands together. The boy turns around to face her. Lo'ak nods for her to go on. "We need to talk."

Biting the inside of his cheek, the blue boy scratches his head.

Aria looks down at the sand and then up, straight into his amber eyes.

"When you left, I said some shitty things to you. I was pissed and scared that my best friend was leaving, I didn't know when I would see you all again." Aria takes a short breath before continuing. "And when you left without us fixing everything, it hurt. You couldn't even look at me as you were flying off."

"Aria, I-" Lo'ak begins but she cuts him off.

"Just, wait." She stops him before ranting once more. "Before Rudy died, we got into an argument. I said shitty things to him too before he died. And I thought, the same thing would happen to you. I got scared, I couldn't lose another person. You're all I have Lo'ak."

"What about Harry?" Lo'ak states.

Aria lets out a soft laugh. "I don't love him Lo'ak."

"Oh, but you love me?" Lo'ak teases and Aria scoffs.

"In your dreams." Aria replies, both of them cracking a smile. She breathes through her nose before finishing. "And I guess I wanted to say that I was being a piece of shit and that I'm sorry."

"What was that?" Lo'ak asks, a small smile playing at his lips. Aria repeats it. "No, say that you're the worst person in the world and that I'm the best and that you should always listen to me."

Now, Aria smirks before repeating, "You're the worst person in the world and that I'm the best and that you should always listen to me."

"I- No! No, you say that I'm the best and that- hey wait up, Aria!" Instead of listening to him, she started running away from him.

In no time, Lo'ak was able to catch up to the girl. He grabs Aria by her waist, stopping her from moving further.

"Lo'ak! Bro!" She shrieks as he loses balance, both of them falling face first in the sand.

"You asshole!" Aria laughs, sitting up. Lo'ak simply continues laughing as Aria tosses sand in his hair.

"Bro!" He shouts, darting up and shoving her. Brushing the sand out of his braids, Lo'ak turns to look at the tan girl.

Lo'ak gazes at her, his eyes not leaving her face or body.

"What?" Aria chuckles, pushing her braids away.

"Nothing." Lo'ak smirks again.

"Stop smirking."

"No."

"Yes. You look even uglier when you smirk."

"Shut up."

"Just the facts."

Aria hugs her knees to her chest and faces the endless sea in front of her. Lo'ak extends his legs and wiggles his toes in front of the girl.

"You're weird." Aria states and Lo'ak shrugs.

"I know." He states. They both sit there in comfortable silence for a few moments. "We aren't apologizing to them, right?"

"Hell nah." Aria answers, craning her neck to look at Lo'ak. She takes notice of his messy hair. "Your braids are undone."

"Oh yeah?" Lo'ak asks and she nods. "Fix them then."

"No." Aria answers, licking her lips.

"You have to. You're the one who was being mean to me." Lo'ak argues and Aria tilts her head with a smile.

"You're the one who left without even saying bye." She counters and Lo'ak slowly nods.

"Yeah but, you threw sand in my hair." Lo'ak whines and she shrugs, turning her head away.

"Whomp whomp." The brunette smiles.

"You have to." Lo'ak pesters and Aria rolls her eyes.

"Make me." Aria says and a devilish smile finds it's way to Lo'ak's lips.

"Okay." He says before pushing her legs down. Before Aria knew it, he was on top of her, both hands pinned up by only one of Lo'ak's hands.

"Get off!" Aria shouts and Lo'ak shakes his head.

"Fix my braids." He repeats and Aria groans.

"Fine." She complies, pushing him off of her body. The sudden loss of heat radiating off of Lo'ak to her gave her an angsty feeling.

Ignoring it, she stands up, undoing his braids.

"Thank you." Lo'ak chirps.

"Shut up."
