Hinata's Pov
"And the best Quidditch player of the year is... Hinata Shoyo!" The headmaster of our school calls out my name. With determination, I stride towards the stage in the big school ballroom. It's graduation day at Butaibo Magic School. Just like every year, they're giving out report cards here, followed by announcing the top student of the year, the best Quidditch player, and the winner of the House Cup. The House Cup gets accepted by the captain of the winning house's Quidditch team. Guess what? I've been picked for all of these, and I've already grabbed the House Cup. I'm glowing as I shake hands with the headmaster and get a medal. Unlike other years, I'm super pleased with my report card. I've nailed the highest score in every subject, something that hasn't happened before. The whole Karasuno House chants in unison:
"Shoyo! Shoyo! Shoyo! Shoyo!"
Suddenly, in the midst of all the cheers, a word breaks the pattern.
"Wake up! Shoyo! Wake up, Shoyo!"
Reader's View:
A boy with red, slightly messy hair opens his eyes sleepily. His mom's standing by his bed, already a bit worked up.
"Shoyo! You need to get up! The train to school's about to leave!" she says, a tad annoyed.
Her son mumbles something unclear and hides under the blanket. After five more minutes of not waking up, she goes for a more drastic approach. His little sister Natsu pops into his room and yells:
"Get up, big bro!"
Then, Natsu grabs Hinata's blanket with her tiny hands and just yanks it away. He's totally caught off guard. But, he's decided he doesn't need to get up and just stays lying there. Little did he know about his sister's determination. She grabs his foot, yanks it, and bam, he's out of bed, falling onto the floor. It makes quite a noise as he lands on the carpet. Hinata grumbles. Looking at the clock beside his bed, he realizes he's way too late. He notices his empty suitcase. Today marks the start of his fifth year at Butaibo School for Wizards and Witches. Cursing a bit, he jumps up, tosses some things into the suitcase, and carelessly throws in his school books. He bundles up his broomstick and all his Quidditch gear in one package. His little sister watches him, seeing him rush around the room so he doesn't forget anything.
"Seriously, big bro, you should've packed earlier!" she scolds.
"Hmph!" Hinata replies, then adds a few small things like his wand into a backpack for carry-on.
In the kitchen, his mom quickly hands him a couple of plastic containers with his favorite food.
"For the journey," she explains.
He dumps the containers into his carry-on backpack and then quickly scarfs down his breakfast.
"You're late, but not that late," the redhead mom says.
"I...go jogging," Hinata mumbles between bites of rice balls.
"Sure thing."
As soon as he's done eating, he ties his shoes and heads out of the house. He follows his usual route. First around the neighborhood, past his old school, and through Wizard Alley where he first saw Quidditch. Then, he takes a turn into the park. His sneakers crunch on the pebbles. Even though it's only September, it's weirdly cold. When he breathes out, tiny clouds form in front of his mouth and nose. He looks up at the sky and spots a bunch of crows flying towards the city. He grins, watching the flock. The emblem of his house is a crow, so he feels a special connection to these birds.
Natsu's Pov:
Mom's pacing nervously in the kitchen, tapping the counter. Her eyes keep darting to the kitchen clock. The seconds hand keeps ticking. The constant ticking's really getting to Mom. I can't quite figure out what's making her so edgy! I sneak into the kitchen and start chowing down on breakfast. Can't function on an empty stomach. When I'm almost done eating, I ask Mom:
"What's up?"
"Your big brother's driving me insane!" she replies, more to herself. "He went for a run half an hour ago and he's still not back! The train's leaving in two hours, and we still need to get to the station and sort everything!"
Reader's Perspective:
Another fifteen minutes pass before Hinata finally shows up.
"Hey there!" His voice reaches us even before he closes the front door.
Before he even reaches the hallway, he gets an earful from his mom.
"What were you thinking? Stressing me out like that! You're driving me crazy!"
"What did I do now?" he asks, confused.
Phew. That was my first chapter. I think it's alright. Hopefully, I managed to describe Hinata's and Natsu's characters. Actually, I'm a huge Potterhead who'd never mix Haikyuu and Harry Potter, but because of a special request, I dared to give it a shot... ;) ~N
