Reader's Perspective:
The next morning, Hinata wakes up early. Although the sixth, fifth, and seventh graders of Karasuno House, as every year, stayed up late and had a little party, he is already wide awake at half past five. The redhead himself doesn't know why he's awake so early. Looking out the window, he notices that it's cloudy but not raining. The fifteen-year-old glances at the clock and sighs softly. It's too early to go for breakfast, but also too late to go back to sleep, because in an hour, the alarm would ring anyway, and Hinata would need at least half an hour to fall asleep again. So why not make good use of the time? As quietly as possible, Hinata slips out of his bed. The remaining beds of the boys from Class 5-1 of Karasuno are arranged in a circle. In the middle is a big fireplace. Unlike, for example, at Hogwarts, students of the same age are not simply grouped together with students from other houses in classes. It's organized by intelligence. On the first day, the first-year students take a test to determine whether they are Level One, Two, Three, Four, or Five. Level Five are the 'geniuses' who later have a good chance of working as healers or something similar. Level Four students are also very smart, but not quite as smart as those in Level Five. Level Three is average. Level Two students are slightly below average, but still not complete failures. Lastly, there's Level One. Those are the ones who should really consider a job as an Auror or the like. The levels refer to theoretical knowledge. Practical skills are assessed differently. Hinata is in Level one. He has classes with other Level one students from all houses who are the same age as him. Quietly and swiftly, Hinata puts on running pants, a t-shirt, and a hoodie before tying his shoes.
"If I can't sleep, I'll just go train!" he thinks to himself, scurries to the storage room in his dorm, and grabs his broomstick and a few table tennis balls he bought from a Muggle store during the summer break, so he can practice alone in Butaibo.
He quickly runs out to the Quidditch field. Before mounting his broomstick, he does a few laps around the field and stretches. Then he enchants the table tennis balls to fly away from him. He practices catching the 'Golden Snitch' for about half an hour until he notices a figure in the stands.
"Kageyama! What are you doing here?" the boy calls out surprised to the dark-haired person.
"I was actually planning to train, but if you're here..."
"Oh, I see... uh, you can throw a few balls at the hoops, and I'll try to get them. That will help me too," Hinata ponders.
Kageyama just shrugs his shoulders and then mounts his broomstick. For a while, Kageyama and Hinata train until they suddenly hear Sugawara's voice:
"You guys better come in if you want to make it to breakfast on time!"
As fast as they can, the two of them run through the castle to their dormitory and get ready to go have breakfast.
An hour later, when the entire Quidditch team is sitting happily chatting and full at their house table, the schedules are distributed. Tsukishima, the only one in Class 5-4, has the longest and most demanding day ahead.
"Looks like another relaxing day ahead," he comments ironically. "First a double period of Transfiguration, then a double period of Potions, and a lunch break, followed by a double period of History of Magic. Then another double period of Charms. For relaxation in the evening, we have an hour each of Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology."
Hinata calculates, "You have school until seven!" (At Hinata's words, Tsukki is surprised, and a small smile plays on his lips) "When are you going to give me tutoring?" (Tsukki's mouth corners lower again.)
"I don't have classes on Wednesday for that reason!" Tsukki says triumphantly and (literally) looking down on him.
"That's not fair! He gets a day off too! It's his own fault for being so smart!" the redhead grumbles, and his sympathy vanishes as if blown away.
"You know that doesn't make sense. Besides, look at your schedule: you only have six hours. And most of them are subjects you're decent at. Like a double period of Charms or Transfiguration. So stop complaining! And eat more, you only had half a piece of toast. You might just collapse on me!" Sugawara explains from the other side of the table, sipping his coffee and reading a newspaper.
"Sugamama has everything under control," the team captain remarks with a grin.
"Shut up, Dadchi!" the addressed retorts, playfully outraged, and gives 'Dadchi' a light tap, but even he can't help but smile. Even Kageyama has to suppress a laugh.
As Sugawara had predicted, Charms is relaxed, but Potions becomes an absolute ordeal for Hinata, as he is absolutely terrible at preparing various ingredients correctly and then brewing a potion with complex mixing and stirring movements. Moreover, he's always under pressure because most potions would take too long to brew alone, so he often works with Kageyama. While Professor Shinetso is usually very considerate and nice, today even she loses her patience, especially after her student poured the entire glass of Wolf's Bane into the potion all at once instead of adding it gradually while stirring steadily, and then added the Aphrodisiac root to the hot potion instead of the cooled one, causing an explosion. After Potions, Hinata and Kageyama (both in Class 5-1) have Care of Magical Creatures together. On the way there, Kageyama scolds Hinata:"It took us seven tries to brew that potion, and in the end, I practically did it all by myself!"
His 1.64m-tall colleague mumbles something incomprehensible but offers no retort.
"You couldn't manage the potion? I thoght your only at quidditch bad!" a mocking voice is heard from behind.
Kageyama gives Hinata a 'not-him-again' look before turning around. Next to the 1.90m-tall Ushijima Wakatoshi, even Kageyama with his meager 1.82m looks a little bit small.
"Well, he's got friends to help him," the dark-haired answers and keeps cool. "Come on, shrimp!"
Wakatoshi gasps for air, trying to come up with a reply, but Kageyama has already pulled Hinata along. While Kageyama and Hinata might not are giving 'best-friend-vibes', they're actually really good friends and stand up for the other. Especially against Wakatoshi. When they were younger, they liked Wakatoshi, but when they first met him, they both tought he's an asshole.
"Wow, that was so cool!"
Admiringly, Hinata stares at his classmate, hopping up and down like a little kid.
"Yeah, whatever. Be quiet, class is starting!"
_____________________________________________
Sorry, to all the Waktoshi fans out there, but I can't stand him, and I thought arch-enemy would be fitting. I don't think, that Hinata and Wakatoshi are friends in real life, but they are definetly NOT here! There will likely be a few incidents involving him, so: DON'T LIKE IT DON'T READ IT! My upload days are expected to be Wednesday and Sunday. That means my next chapter will be online on the 27th of August. From now on, I will alternate between like five chapters in Butaibo and the next five in Hogwarts. I'll also include a small, really tiny love story between Hinata and Yachi because I totally ship them. Again: DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T READ IT! Have a great remaining week :)
