"I'm so excited for you baby! I miss you soo bad and you need to fly out here soon, okay?"
"Yes ma, I'll fly out whenever I'm free, I promise." She smiled at her mother over the phone.
"I know you will 'cause my baby is going to be making so much money!" Her mom said, basically screaming.
"I know ma - I'm so proud of myself." She looked down at the counter that she was sitting at, and stared at her pancakes.
"I'm so proud of you. Your father is so proud of you. Koa and Keir are so proud. Meleya and the baby are so proud. You deserve this Kailani, more than anyone I know baby." She smiled at her only daughter over the phone.
Kailani covered her face with her hands, "Mommy stop. You're going to make me cry." She uncovered her face and gave her mom a tiny smile.
"Baby I'm going to be crying for you, you've come so far and there's nobody else that could've done this but you."
Kailani wiped under her eyes, to make sure that she wasn't crying, "Baby I have to go - call me later, alright? I so proud of you. And tell Duke I said 'Hi'" Her mother gave her, her signature bright smile.
"Bye ma, I love you." She replied.
"Bye baby, I love you too bad!" Her mother abruptly hung up the phone.
Kailani set her phone down, as she focused back onto the pancakes that were sitting in-front of her. It was 7:49 a.m, and Kailani didnt have anything on her schedule today, so she might go live, since she hasn't went in a long time.
She had been very busy lately, with her businesses. And just two days ago, she made big girl purchases. Kailani's businesses had really taken off, and the department where they were boxing at, couldn't fit any of it anymore.
So she bought not one, but two warehouses right outside of Atlanta. One for her clothing line, and the other for her beauty line.
Her sales had been going through the roof since she had been regularly meeting with Mr. Ambrose, and she was overly ecstatic, at how well everything was going.
With the help of her following, they sold out of products, easily. She had been boasting about her businesses for the past three years, and they couldn't wait for them to finally drop. And when they did, they made sure she got the amount sold that she deserved.
Kailani's small smile was brought into a frown when she remembered what her mother said, 'Tell Duke I said 'Hi'."
She didn't want to tell any of her family that he did what he did, just because if she did end up getting with him, she didn't want to make him seem like a bad guy. Because he isn't a bad guy - he proved that over the months that they were hanging out. She wanted them to keep the pure image of him, rather than tell them.
As she ate her pancakes, and sipped her orange juice, she double tapped her phone to check what time it was. It was only 7:56, and she had been up for 2 hours now.
Kailani noticed that she had unread messages, so she read through them to see who she wanted to respond to, and who not to.
She gave a slight smile to her phone, seeing two texts from Duke. He texted her everyday, and Kailani could tell that he was really trying. She made a mental note to respond to him later.
Closing out of messages and going to the FaceTime app, she clicked the recent caller and waited for him to pickup.
She cut into another pancake, as she heard the connecting sound, and waited a couple seconds for it to connect as she propped her phone up on a water bottle.
