Karolina turned around to see Natasha in a gray tank top and some lower cut shorts.
She gave her a look with a raised eyebrow before a smile covered her face.
"This old veteran is about to kick your ass."
Natasha's famous smirk settled on her face as they started to circle each other.
"Hope you're not all talk."
"Same goes to you, Natalia."
And with that, Natasha's defenses lowered. Karolina saw it in her eyes.
They both lunged at each other at the same time.
They went on for hours and hours, the next attack coming from Natasha.
Karolina had her pinned for most rounds considering her advantages, yet Natasha put up a very good fight not giving up just yet.
Although Karolina loved her matches with Clint, she loved getting more of a workout and challenge from the widow. Not to mention the sight of her alone.
The sweat dripping off her forehead, another light layer covered her arms and legs. The focus on her face and in her eyes as she tried to analyze Karolina's fight pattern.
Just like all those years ago.
Natasha wrapped her legs around Karolina's neck and flipped her over. She realized she had fallen into Karolina's trap a little too late.
In the middle of the flip, Karolina reached over and got ahold of Natasha's torso. She pushed her flat on her back on the grass. Pinning her successfully once again.
A groan mixed with bad words both in Russian and English escaped the redhead. It was mostly agitation, but that emotion slowly faded as Natasha felt Kar's hand still on the right side of her body holding her steady. Their bodies were closer than they both had realized.
They were both breathless as they looked into each other's eyes. Their breaths mixed in, the distance seemed so far yet so close.
"Good match. What does that make it now? 100-0?" Karolina smiled a little too cocky as she looked into the woman's eyes.
Natasha was about to say something before her thoughts slipped from her. They both got lost in each other's eyes.
Those brown eyes seemingly lit by the sun and the redhead woman in front of her.
Their breath mixed with the gust of wind. Natasha didn't think she could fall any further until Kar quietly spoke with a, "Hi."
The redhead shook her head with a smile, "Hi."
The sun had nothing on her.
"You know, this wasn't what I meant by yardwork." Clint stood a few feet away with an amused smile.
"Clint, what the- "
"I was just starting to like you."
Clint kept the smile on his face as both women got up and Natasha held onto Karolina's arm.
"Weren't you supposed to go with Laura?"
"We got here 20 minutes ago." He stayed in the same place before he got thrown dangerous glares by both of them.
"Okay, okay, I'm leaving but we are starting dinner soon!" He called out as he made his way back to the porch.
Karolina shook her head with a scoff before looking over at Nat with a smile.
After they both took a shower, they got dressed, Karolina waited for Nat as she had her book open. She read a few more paragraphs before seeing Nat in front of her.
