Open up - Eli

Author's note: this is a made up story line, this wasn't actually in the show.

I was walking through the school with Demetri, we hadn't seen Eli yet which made us both incredibly nervous. We made it to our lockers and it felt strange because Eli's locker is inbetween ours so it just felt like something was missing. "I don't know we were sending eachother jokes and memes until he said 'going to talk to my mum' I'm not sure if he was telling the truth," I explain finding last nights messages. "What time did he say that," Demetri asked as he looked through his locker. "He said it at," I looked back at my phone, "6: 49" this made Demetri give me a worried expression. "What?" I asked confused. "Dammit, why are they back," this didn't answer much question. "Metri, what am I missing," I asked scared myself. Before he could answer me Eli walked inbetween us and said nothing, he had his hood up and was trying to hide himself in his locker. "Hey Eli," I say but I got no response, "are you okay," I know he clearly wasn't but I didn't know what else to say. He didn't respond, "Eli, can you talk to us please," Demetri pleaded. Eli looked at Demetri and said, "Please, don't make me show her," This was Eli pleading now. Demetri only nodded, "Eli I'm worried about you," I say staring at the back of his hood wishing that he would turn around. He sighed and walked away pulling Demetri with him, Demetri looked back at me mouthing the words 'I'm sorry' I just closed my locker and went to my classes.

I went to biology, I sat next to Miguel and we started to write about the anatomy of a frog when I got a tap on the shoulder, I look back and saw Kyler. "Hey, I'm really sorry," This caught Miguel's attention because he has never said sorry, "I shouldn't of let lip off so easily," He smirked I glared at him, "I should of let him carry on." "Who did you let so somthing to Eli," I asked angrily. "Oh shit, lip didn't tell you," At this point if looks could kill he would of died 10 times, "My brother," he finally admitted. "You have a brother," Miguel asked and he nodded. "He is back from collage, and I think both lip and I really missed him," This made me join the dots to what Demitri said earlier. I turned back around and continued to write trying to figure out how to get Eli to open up. I've been there when he was verbally bullied, I comforted him, but this time he desperatly doesn't want me to know. I was the first one at the lunch table so I got my notebook out and wrote down possible things I could say to Eli. "Hey Y/n," It was Sam, "Demitri asked if you could sit with me instead today," my heart sank, I just stood up and walked with her to the table with Yasmine and Moon.

I felt horrible about making Y/n move but I really don't want her to know what happened last night. "Dude, Please tell her, you know how much she cares about you," Demetri said glancing at her then back at me. "She doesn't need to know," I mumble back taking a bite of my sandwich. He sighed but spied something on the floor, It was Y/n's notebook, "I'll go give... this..." He trailed off as he started reading the few sentances that were on the open page, "Oh Eli, she was trying to figure out what to say to you," He said passing the notebook to me.

'Eli please I really want to help you'

'Why can't I help you with this'

'It's only been a few hours and I already miss your face' 

'If only you could see you the way I do'

'if only you knew how much I love you'

I looked at the sentances guilt and surprise overwheming me, "I'll go give it back," I say taking my hood off and walking towards Y/n.

I was chatting with Sam when she looked over my shoulder and gasped, "What," I asked and turned around, there he was, Eli, his hood was down and his face was beaten horribly and his hair was uneven because there was a clump of hair taken out, I stood up and walked towards him. "You forgot your note-" He started to say but I cut him off by hugging him tightly. "I'm going to your house after school," I said then grabbed my stuff and moved back to the table with Demetri.

It was after school and as we walked I held his hand, we walked in silence until he opened the door and let me in, as he did I kissed his cheek softly as to not hurt him. He closed the door and quickly walked to his living room as his mum wasn't home yet, "What happened," I asked gently. He took his hoodie off and his shirt showing me his bruised body, tears filled my eyes, "They forced me out of my house and beat me up in the alley by my house, they took pieces of my hair and left me there," at this point we were both crying. "Oh Eli," I say cupping his cheeks very gently, "why can't I protect you," I say looking into his eyes. He shook his head, "you've already done everything for me," he said and he pulled me into a kiss, I was shocked but I kissed him back happily. We pulled away for air, "Just promise to tell me everything important," I say making us both chuckle, he simply nodded and kissed me again.
