"How's he, doc?" Aerin asked, concern prominent on her face, her eyes hoping for some positive news.
"He's okay now, we saved him. You gave the blood at the right time, Ms. Park," the doctor reassured her.
"Thank you so much, doc."
"You can go and see him once he comes back to his senses."
"Okay."
The doctor left, and Aerin sank into the chair, finally feeling relieved, letting out sighs of comfort.
"Ma'am, you can go inside now," the nurse who just exited the room said. Aerin nodded, silently tiptoeing into the room. Her eyes immediately filled with tears as she saw the guy with multiple bandages and wounds, several machines attached to him.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this," Aerin said softly as she gently rubbed his hand.
"Ma'am, you need to fill out the details at the reception and submit the rest of the money. May I know how you both are related?" the nurse asked.
Aerin looked at the nurse and then turned her gaze toward the guy, his eyes barely open because of all the wounds.
"I'm... his friend."
"Then please fill up this form and give the rest of the money at the reception," the nurse instructed before leaving.
"Why?" the guy managed to utter those letters through his oxygen mask.
Aerin gently patted his head with affection. "Because I want you to stay alive," she said, giving him a faint smile.

"He's late. It's really unusual for him," Jeonghan sighed, glancing at the watch on his wrist. It was almost 11 pm. Taeyong had promised to go for dinner, even confirming it on messages. Jeonghan had informed him that he would be done by 10, and Taeyong insisted on picking him up from his company. Of course, Jeonghan agreed, and now he was waiting for almost an hour, and Taeyong wasn't here.
"Han, you haven't gone home?" Jeonghan heard the honk of a car and looked up to see Seungcheol's car. Seungcheol pulled down the window and looked at him with concern.
"Your date ditched you?"
"Why do you care?" Jeonghan rolled his eyes.
"Come, I'll drop you."
"No way, I have already called my driver. He'll be here in a minute, so no."
"Han, I said come if you don't want me to go over there and carry you to my car." Seungcheol's eyes were serious, radiating every ounce of dominance. But Jeonghan wasn't going to give in so easily. Enough of submissive and obedient Jeonghan. So, even though he did get nervous, he looked straight into Seungcheol's eyes and chuckled, a teasing and provoking chuckle.
"Try me, Cheol."
Seungcheol huffed before he got out of the car and walked towards Jeonghan. Before Jeonghan could comprehend, he found himself being carried by Seungcheol, his hands unknowingly wrapped around Seungcheol's neck.
"Leave me, Cheol. What if someone watches—"
Jeonghan tried to struggle and get down, but all of those efforts were in vain in front of Seungcheol's immense strength.
"Stay like that if you don't want me to drop you."
Jeonghan tightened his grip around Seungcheol's neck; he definitely didn't want his million-dollar suit to get dirty. Seungcheol made him sit in the passenger's seat, tied his seatbelt for him, and took the steering wheel himself.
