EH, MY MONEY'S ON THE CAT

────⋅☽⋅────

IT FELT NICE TO FINALLY BE OUT AGAIN. It had been a few weeks since everything had gone down and it had been that long since Raven had been outside for any longer than she needed to be. April did her best to try to cheer her up, but she was just as engulfed in tracking down her father as Raven was engulfed in her own gloom.

So she had the great idea to push Raven outside for the night and spend some time with the turtles. April had been in contact with them since meeting them, informing them about every possible lead she might've had about the Kraang's whereabouts.

Which meant Raven had the same amount of contact with them, but she didn't talk nearly as much.

Truthfully, they were all worried. She was nothing like the stubborn yet heroic live wire they had seen the night she was rescued, but they knew it was better not to force her out of her comfort zone.

Raven had reluctantly agreed to help the turtles patrol the city for the night when April suggested it, well aware of their concern. She could feel it breathing down her back whenever they were around, asking if she'd eaten recently or if she wanted to talk about anything. Even April's aunt joined the 'worry about Raven' club.

As suffocating as it was, it helped keep her grounded. Just enough to remain conscious, but grounded nonetheless. She knew they cared. So she figured she at least owed this both to herself and to them.

April agreed to remain at home for the night, wanting her to be as immersed as possible with the boys. Knowing how worried they were about her, they would probably more immersed with her than she would be with them.

So she headed out with them, and not even an hour into their patrol, Raven was doubled over with laughter. Everything they did automatically turned into a competition of some sort, which would result in somebody failing miserably or Mikey popping out a golden one-liner.

They traveled around the city over building rooftops, taking turns piggybacking Raven every time they moved. She felt yet another competition brewing when Donnie shouted for their attention as he performed a very flashy routine of flips and cartwheels over a particularly wide alleyway.

Mikey soon followed, Raph and Leo watching him while Raven hopped off of the back of Leo's shell. He swiftly climbed up the side of a water tank and did an impressive kick flip off of the side of it, landing on Donnie's side with a gentle roll.

"Top that, turtle chumps!" Mikey shouted from across the way. Raven laughed softly and waited to see who would make the first move.

"All right, guys." Leo wound up, taking several steps back. "Check this." Several flips and one clean barrel roll later, Leo landed on the other side, a cocky smirk on his face while Mikey awed at him.

"Aw, you kiddies are cute." Raph taunted, theatrically cracking his neck before winding his own routine up. Although telling by the smirk on his face, Raven knew he was up to something. "C'mon, firecracker." He motioned for Raven to get on the back of his shell, but the girl only shot him a skeptical look.

She crossed her arms over her chest. "Nuh-uh. If you're doing flips with me on your back, I'm either ending up on the bottom of that alley or I'm chucking my dinner on all of you."

"'M not gonna. You'll see." He said about as convincingly as he could. Which wasn't much with the devilish smile he adorned. But Raven caved in, not wanting to have to climb two fire escapes to keep up with them.
