A/N In case you didn't know, the title is a spoof off of Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees.
P.S. Thanks to EramSk for sending in the idea. And no, it wasn't a stupid idea. And yes, I love it because I never would have thought of it. I hope I did it justice.
P.P.S. Before anyone read this, the title of this collection was Love Notes. Do you think I should go back? Because sometimes, I feel that RVPMMC doesn't actually encapsulate what this collection is about. (and it's a mouthful)

It's all a lie.
They say that technology is cold, concrete,
rigid, fake, plastic
Yet, somehow,
through the rigid, fake, plastic screen,
I fell in love with you.
The lie kept me safe.
I thought that you being intangible, invisible, behind a screen
would stop me from falling deep
Yet, somehow,
through the rigid, fake, plastic screen,
you made me smile, laugh, giggle, cry
even though I had no idea what you looked like
I could only imagine.
I imagined the way your smile would sparkle in your eyes,
the sound of your loud, infectious laughter,
the warmth of your embrace as your arms tighten around me.
But, sometimes, imagination is deadlier than reality
Because in my imagination,
you were in love with me.
Though our virtual conversations may be through
cold, concrete, rigid, fake, plastic technology,
MY love was (is) real.
The only fake thing about us was
your love.
The was the problem:
your love's all a lie.
