(Time skip a few weeks)

Janai worked tirelessly through the early evening to late at night in the forge, rechecking the measurements the doctors gave her and the reference sketches. As she wiped her brow, she saw how the shaped silver gleamed like a star on a clear night in the light of the forge. The gold wire she used for the details ran like veins through it.

As she looked at it, she felt a firm hand on her shoulder she looked over to see Gren. His face had a look of worry. "Amaya is wondering where you are." She sighed softly before replying."Tell her I'm finishing a project and that I'll see her shortly." Gren nodded."I know you're making that leg for Amaya, but she needs you now more than ever. She needs you to tell her that you care and love her despite what happened." Janai sighed."I know, believe me, it just hurts to see her like this." Janai's thoughts after she spoke went dead silent as she packed up the leg, placing it in a cubby near the forge and started to walk back to her and Amaya's tent. As she neared the tent, she let out a soft sigh before entering.

As she entered, she felt the pain she saw in Amaya's face. When she got closer, Janai hesitantly asked, "How are you feeling?" She already knew the answer, but she felt the need to ask since Gren talked to her at the forge. Amaya's face fell as she signed."Fine. I guess." Janai felt her heart sink at Amaya's expression. The elf cupped Amaya's cheek as she asked, "You know you can talk to me if you need to, right?"

The human nodded. Of course, she knew, but she didn't want to be seen as a burden due to what happened to her.

The elf sat next to her and placed a hand on Amaya's thigh, running her thumb over a small scar just above her knee. The other woman looked at her, and her eyes were soft, but they hid the pain of what happened that now weighed heavily upon her shoulders. Janai spoke clearly, making sure each of her words was seen even as she signed. "I want you to know that my love for you will never change. Even if you change, I will never see you as less, my sun."

Amaya’s eyes clouded with tears as she saw the tender care and love in her fiancée's eyes before her emotions broke through, and tears flowed freely as she clung to the Sunfire queen, who held her tightly.
