"I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE" Mariam yelled with tears running down her cheeks.
"How could they be so selfish and throw away years of friendship? Did they ever think of us? come on Mari get yourself together the damage is already done and all these tears won't change the fact that our mothers were selfish enough to steal from the company." Ana rattled.
Juanita got an asthma attack from all the crying and Mandy was seated on the compound bench with her head clasped between her hands, trying to hide her tears, but it was apparent that her tough girl facade was wearing off.
The drive to the airport was filled with muffles of cries, it was too early to say goodbye, especially for this reason, and now we don't think we would ever be reunited again.
Juanita, Mandy, and I held hands as we watched Ana and Mariam board the plane, we sobbed as the chauffeur led us out to the car.
we promised to keep in touch and text our group regularly. When we arrived home we got a message from our parents stating that they'd be coming back to Ghana the next day, which meant we would live separately now that they are back, but the good news is I still get to attend the same school with Juanita and Mandy.
We were all so drained and tired from crying the whole day that we forgot to bathe, eat and do our skincare, we lay scattered on the bed.
"I've never been so grateful that today is Friday and we don't have to go to school for two days" I mumbled and raised my head to look at Juanita and Mandy who were already fast asleep.
As I closed my eyes to join them, Olivia barged in without knocking, almost like she shared the room with us.
" Olivia, how many times have I demanded you to knock before you enter my room? okay, now what do you want?" I asked with a look of annoyance on my face.
"uh miss you know I can't let you sleep without self-care, so I'm here to get you girls to do that," she said whiles looking at the floor.
had she really changed? or is she putting up an act because our parents were coming home? I woke the others up, but before I could leave the room I saw my phone flash and I rushed to check the notification.
" I'll be picking you up tomorrow at 8:00 a.m" read the message.
I dropped the phone and headed to the bathroom.
