As it got to the middle of April, girls were starting to get their college acceptances back.

Bridgette, who spoke to Colette weekly, said that Colette got a letter back from The College of Naples- and she wasn't accepted.

Bridgette set plans for all of us to go out that weekend, in hopes to cheer up Colette.

"That's not right." Bridgette said, "Colette is so smart. She deserved to get in. I think it could have something to do with the fact that she would need a scholarship."

I felt bad for Colette, I really did. She worked hard to get pretty much all A's, and she also worked at the bakery a lot. She deserved to get into The College of Naples.

If I get in, I'll feel bad. She's more worthy than me.

It wound up pouring on Saturday when we all planned to go out, much to our luck.

The St. Augustine girls decided to come to our campus, and Bridgette still wanted to make it a fun night.

In the rain, Bridgette and I walked to another local bakery together.

"Colette loves two things- caramel kettle corn and cheesecake brownies." Bridgette said, "I want to get that for her. Just not where she works."

"You and Colette have become really close this year, haven't you?"

"I'd say we have." Bridgette smiled, "She's very different from me. She's wiser. More polished. She gives me good advice. Honestly, I've learned something from all of them. Even Jameson."

"And what have you learned from her?" I asked Bridgette.

"To no matter what- not let anyone fuck with you." Bridgette said.

"Jameson sure has that quality about her." I said back.

"I'm happy for you and her." Bridgette smiled at me, "I always knew that you thought she was attractive. It was only a matter of time."

"You did know. You even asked me over Thanksgiving if I thought she was attractive." I laughed. I then asked her, "Have you and Evelyn hooked up more?"

"Not in the past couple of months." Bridgette said, "I love Evelyn, she's the sweetest girl. But I think mentally she's dealing with some things I don't even know about."

I thought she looked sad the past couple of times I saw her.

Bridgette set up our dorm room with snacks and she grabbed some extra blankets from the lounge, which she set up on our beds and on the floor. She wanted to make it feel like a slumber party- even though it wasn't going to be an actual sleepover.

Colette looked absolutely delighted when she saw her favorite treats laid out on paper plates.

"Bridgette, please tell me you didn't do all of this for me." Colette said, "That's going to make me feel way too special."

"You deserve it!" Amelia said to Colette, "We know that you're a bit upset about not getting into your first-choice school. Bridgette thought you could use a night of cheering up.

I swore Colette looked like she could cry- of happiness.

"Damn, you're going to make me cry!" she said, fanning her face, "Let me tell you ladies, and I'm not complaining- no one does anything for me. I'm always the one doing things for other people. This basically pertains to my family, not you all. So, thank you. It means the world to me."

We all sat with our respective partners on our beds- and Jameson sat close next to me.

"So this is where you sleep, huh?" she asked me, "This bed is fucking uncomfortable."
