Ronan and Beth had never been closer and yet, Ronan felt so far away.

His heart stayed grounded with Beth but his mind wandered far away from him, much farther than the room that they lay in together on a couch; a movie playing in the background.

His racing thoughts were interrupted by Beth, getting his attention to ask him if he was okay. He hadn't been okay, but he hadn't been able to talk about it either. Now he finally was. He knew it was time.

He could not continue on the path they had started together and feel a pure heart; he had to choose. He cared about Beth too much to take the risk of carrying weights in his heart while being the person she depended on. He cared about Beth too much to give her no choice in caring about him in return.

He couldn't stand the thought of letting Beth go; of her leaving and never wanting to return. Of finding something she liked spending time on more than him. But he had finally accepted that he must now embrace this possibility as he offered it directly to her.

He felt his eyes start to tear up when he started telling Beth what had been on his mind. He told her that he knows everything about her, inside and out. He told her that he cares about her deeply. He had grown to care for her more than anyone else.  He told her that the right thing for him to do is to say goodbye. He knows what she wants and he knows what's good for her- to leave him.

Ronan could not believe his ears or his exploding heart when she disagrees with him. She cares about him, she likes it here with him, she doesn't want to leave without him. She's staying. She chooses to stay.

She didn't know the full backstory of why he took her in the first place. She was a witness but she was also in danger just from being there, at the wrong place and the wrong time. He knew the danger wouldn't end there for her, she was a beautiful girl who was a natural magnet drawing the attention of those whose attention was not worthy to be on her.

She was powerful, she was innocent, and she was vulnerable. He saw her sleeping at the train station, men with guns in their hands only yards away. He could not leave her- he would not have left her. And now she was his by her own choice.

"Ronan... I don't know what to say." His mind was racing and his blood was pumping. Did Beth really feel the same way about him that he felt about her?

"Then don't say anything. Come here."

Ronan held her close to his heart. He felt a disbelieving happiness welling up inside him. He had the most beautiful girl in the world in his arms, she could be anywhere in the world and she was there.

He felt something else welling up inside him too. Something monstrous, something possessive, something fierce. She was his; completely his. She was his baby, she was his princess, she was his slut. He could do anything he wanted to her and she would take it obediently.

His body had taken control. He was on her, her back on the couch, his mouth was on her neck kissing every inch of her skin and his hands were on her waist. He was delicate but passionate, showing Beth just how much she meant to him.

"Ronan," she breathed against his hair, "you have the rest of our life to make love to me. Right now I need to fuck."

Ronan's body twisted, turned, tightened, and hardened in every place it could. Beth had no idea what she did to him.

The kisses he had littered across her neck turned to hard sucking and teeth pulling on skin. She gasped at the stimulation, the most vulnerable part of her body completely at his mercy. He covered her neck with love bites leaving her red and tender. His hands dragged across her skin underneath her shirt, racing to touch every inch of her.
