The Red Lantern (Young Justice X Male Reader)

Chapter 2:Independence Day (Part 2)

-3rd POV-

Deep inside the heart of the underground Cadmus facility, Robin, Aqua-Lad, and Kid Flash were walking around the corridors made of muscle and flesh, resembling the inside of an Alien's body instead of a secret laboratory.

As they moved, making sure to avoid any potential patrols, they were getting closer to the sounds of a distant battle as Kid Flash turned to Robin, clearly nervous.

"Kid Flash:Uh...How long do we have left until Red Lantern goes crazy?"

"Robin:If we're lucky? Barely enough time."

"Kid Flash:And if not?"

"Robin:Let's hope he has a way of adding time to the clock."

Hearing that made Kid Flash become extremely nervous, with the sounds of something causing absolutely mayhem in the distance only adding to his fear. Eventually the group entered into what looked like a makeshift lab, where (Y/N) could be found vomiting up his own blood which was melting a computer system.

Upon seeing this, Robin, Aqua-Lad, and especially Kid Flash looked grossed out by what (Y/N) was doing.

"Kid Flash:Oh, I forgot he could do that."

After hearing Kid Flash's voice, (Y/N) wipped some leftover blood from his mouth and turned to face his allies, with his eyes still burning with an endless fury despite his outwardly calm demeanor.

"(Y/N):Sorry, but it's the only way to make sure nobody recovers any data from this thing."

"Robin:Well that data could've helped us figure out what Cadmus is doing here."

Before anyone could blink, (Y/N) moved so fast he practically teleported towards Robin, before grabbing him by the throat and lifting the partner of Batman off the ground. This, understandably, freaked out Kid Flash and Aqua-Lad as the former backed away from the Red Lantern, while the latter grabbed his arm to try and pry (Y/N) off of Robin.

Something which failed, horribly.

"(Y/N):I already know what their doing here, and I swore an oath to destroy Cadmus. I don't intend to break that oath just so you can play detective."

Before anyone else could get a word in, the voice of someone else got their attention.

"???:Hold!"

Looking towards the voice, the group spotted a much more Humanoid looking Genomorph standing in a corridor, with its horns and eyes quickly gaining a red glow as it began telekineticaly lifting several objects around it.

Seeing this, (Y/N) quickly threw Robin towards a different corridor as his body was once again surrounded by an aura of crackling red light.

"(Y/N):Go, I'll hold him off."

"Aqua-Lad:We're not-"

All it took was a single glare from (Y/N) to make Aqua-Lad back down, as he realised there was no point in him trying to argue with a rage-fuelled Red Lantern Corps member. As the objects the Genomorph was psychically lifting flew towards the group, (Y/N) created a barrier of red light in their path, blocking the makeshift projectiles which shattered against it before the barrier shifted into the form of a spiked mace, which (Y/N) quickly grabbed as he flew towards the Genomorph.

Only his blinding desire to kill, amplified by the intoxicating rage boost of his Red Power Ring caused the Red Lantern to not notice the Genomorph use it's telekinesis to slam two chunks of the walls into (Y/N) from two angles, seemingly trapping him as the Lantern began thrashing around, trying to physically free himself as blood began trickling out of his mouth and eyes.
