SATURDAY
"Aizawa sir, I'm so very grateful for this opportunity to be here, but there's something I still don't understand." Tired eyes looked from the road to the rear-view mirror to meet the girl's eyes. He gave a small hmm and the girl continued. "Why go through all this trouble now when you're well underway with the new school year."
"Well, the government officials and doctors would like to understand your quirk more without making you feel so restricted. What better to do that than with a school full of heroes?"
"Well, that's one thing they could do to make up for lost time."
"What do you mean?"
"I haven't been surrounded by the best people in my life. So last-minute kindness in my life, when time is so close, is kinda shitty."
"I suppose."
"Not to say I wasn't happy with it. It's just been rough these past few years. So I'm sorry if I seem like a debby downer sometimes."
"You don't have to apologize for anything you know. None of this was your fault." The confusing part is y/n didn't know whether to believe if things were actually not her fault. It seemed as though fate revolved around her.
"Why are you doing this though? It seems you're close with the subject matter." He sighed with the question lingering in the air.
"One of my best friends. He was friends with everyone. I'm not gonna lie, I barely knew your parents when we were in high school together. They were a year younger than us. He did though, he made it his purpose to be the light that everyone needed, so he befriended them. I feel like it's a way to still feel him. Plus no kid should have to go through this alone."
"I'm sorry for your loss. There's a lot of pain with vulnerability."
"Yeah but hey can't do much about it, right? Just gotta keep going." Y/n gave a nod and then turned her focus towards the window, as the buildings flashed by.
...
"Your room is across the hall from mine, in case you need anything while you're getting settled in. Dinner is at 7 pm, I'll bring food over so you don't have to worry about getting lost or anything. We'll discuss your schedule and some ground rules then."
"Thank you again, Aizawa it means a lot to me."
"No problem." He hands her the key to her apartment across the hall from his as he opens his door she goes into her own. It was more than she expected, a combined living room and dining room area, a full kitchen, a separate bedroom space, and her bathroom. The walls were a mute blue that brought out the accents of sun and foliage coming from the balcony. Where she had a view of the vast space that the U.A. campus was on and a small pond to the left of the building complex.
She roamed through each room, inspecting the small details that the U.A. staff tried to provide to make the space more home-like. Adding her final touches from the suitcase of the rest of her belongings that came with her from her hospital room.
"Home sweet home." She plopped to her bed and stared at the ceiling, and slowly the world started to fade away.
...
"y/n, y/n wake up." The girl slowly opened her eyes and saw a figure standing over her. She jumped back in fright as she just awoke from her daze.
"I'm sorry for frightening you, but I was afraid when you didn't answer the door, so I used the spare key." She yawned.
"How long was I out for?"
"It's about 7:30 so more than four and a half hours. Here let's go eat I'll set up dinner, so you can freshen up a little." He walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. Leaving the girl once again alone. She groaned and after a couple of minutes of contemplating, she got up from her comfortable position. She walked to her dining table and sat across from Aizawa. They said their thanks and started to dig into the food in front of them.
"So here is your schedule starting Monday. You'll be joining the general class, 1-C, seeming that it be the best place to put you. Dr. Fujihara did say that you were almost discharged from using the IV constantly, but if you aren't comfortable with that we can have one of our support students make something specifically for you."
"I'm alright with going to the nurse regularly for my drip therapy, but I would like for you to make one just in case she's not available or I can't make it to her on time." He gives a silent nod as he continues eating
"So, class 1-C that's Shinso's class, right?"
"Mhm," He hummed as he was drinking water. "We haven't told any of the students yet, but he was adamant for you to come to U.A. these past couple of weeks."
"He's always been like that since we were young."
"You two are close?"
"We've been friends since elementary school, we were neighbors and ever since then we've looked out for each other."
"So it would work perfectly with your schedule after classes you would be able to accompany him to his extra lessons with me."
"Extra lessons for what?"
"Quirk training. He showed excellent skill at the sports festival so hopefully with better training he's able to join my class by next year." She nods.
"He has said a few things about that. He doesn't like to share much about school around me. He doesn't want to make me feel bad."
"He's just trying to be cautious around you."
"I know I just wish things were less cautious. It's not like I can go anywhere until the new year."
"Which brings me to ask, what is your quirk?"
"Well..."
Y/n went into further detail about what her quirk encompasses, trying to give Aizawa a better grasp of the repercussions. All he does is nod and give small silent feedback, a yes or an ah here and there.
"Would you like for us to make this information confidential to your peers?"
"No, not necessarily, I'd like to tell them myself actually, Monday if possible."
"I see. Are there any other requests you would like for me to relay to the board?"
"Actually, there is one favor."
