MONDAY
"Thank you Iida. Good morning class, I'm sorry there wasn't enough time to inform you about this sudden change but we have a new student who will be partially joining us." The class started to murmur about the new addition. Many were excited and gasping in awe anxiously awaiting their new classmate on the other side of the door.
"You may come in now." Their illusions weren't what they thought. Instead, a girl with a bright smile on her face welcomed through the door. She was normal, almost too normal for the class, not a breed mixture, no wings, no horns, just a girl.
"Good morning, sorry for interrupting your regular schedule. I'm Y/n L/n, I will be occasionally joining your class! I wanted to start off by saying thank you again for this opportunity Aizawa-sensei."
"Of, course." He gave a smirk making the class appalled by the rare interaction.
"I would like to be very straightforward with you all and address the elephant in the room." y/n nudges to the portable IV that was by her side. "I'm pretty sure you're assuming that there's something wrong with me or that I'm ill. Which there's no shame it's true."
The class stared in awe at how the girl in front of them could be so calm and collected about this.
"My quirk is called Fulfillment. Every year I'm given tasks to complete before the start of the next year, like new years resolutions. The severity of the tasks varies with not really a solid reason that we know of. If I don't complete a task by the beginning of next year there are some consequences. Other than that I'm practically invincible to harm. Hopefully, this journey with you all will bring some new insight to this quirk of mine. Please don't feel like you have to tip-toe around me, I'm not really sensitive when it comes to asking questions."
"Y/n here will be joining us for most of our regular curricular such as math, Japanese, and English. During your hero courses, she will sometimes be joining us as a spectator or will be joining class 1-C. There's a lot to do today so let's go to the lesson."
...
"Hey, l/n right?" The bell just rang signifying that it was time for their lunch break. Y/n turned around to be surprised by a green-haired boy fidgeting with a notebook and pencil in his hand.
"Y/n if fine, I don't really do the whole formalities. Anyways, what's up?"
"Okay, Y/n" He tested her name without the formalities and it just seemed to roll off the tongue much better. "I was just wondering if I can ask you some questions about your quirk. I kinda keep a log of everyone in class, if it's not too weird. I'm Izuku Midoriya by the way."
He sticks out his hand and she takes it within her own.
"Nice to meet you. It's really no problem by the way. Fire away!" The rest of the class stopped in their tracks with the boldness of the question. They tried to make conversation amongst each other to make it seem like they weren't eavesdropping. While some of the class left to get good seating at lunch, knowing they'd be filled in about the information later.
Midoriya opened up to the page he was currently working on about Y/n he clicked his pen and looked up to face the girl.
"You said you were practically invincible to harm besides the effects of your quirk, can you elaborate on that."
"Sure, it's gonna sound really weird. Ever since I got my quirk, around when I was 5 ish, I noticed that I would get random cuts and bruises everywhere. They wouldn't hurt and I would practically self-regenerate. Which is ironic because of my condition." The boy faltered at her words.
"Don't worry you'll get used to my sarcastic jokes. Anyways I found out really quickly that I couldn't waste time not completing these tasks. The first time I didn't complete a task I fell down a flight of stairs and I didn't recover as quickly as I did with my other injuries."
"Maybe it was a coincidence?"
"Definitely not." Not wanting to pry more on that rabbit hole he decided to change the subject."
"What do the tasks feel like?"
"They're mainly instinctual like a force is pulling me in a certain direction. Although, if I'm having trouble with a task it's kinda like whatever gave me this quirk is giving me a physical sign. With the tasks too no one can help me, I have to do it all on my own and then when I'm done I can finally talk about the task." He completed writing down the rest of her words and then he took a long pause.
"I know you wanna ask another question. I really don't mind. I've kinda been doing these interviews my whole life."
"How did you get in your current state?" She paused, it was only a year since it happened and she didn't know if she was ready to come and say it.
"Well-"
"Y/n." She turned her head towards the voice coming from the door. Her long-time best friend was staring at her blank face while he examined the classroom.
"Maybe another time Midoriya." She grabbed her bag and stood up from her chair to meet Shinso by the door. She suddenly felt a light grasp on her arm.
"Please call me Izuku, if I don't have to use formalities with you then you could do the same for me." He let go of her wrist and then gave a light smile. He then turned toward the door and gave Shinso a nod which he gave in return.
He watched as she walked away with Shinso. He looked towards his hand and gave a small smirk. Something about y/n was enlightening. Something instinctual or was it something much more than words can describe? In any case, Midoriya couldn't help feeling lighter, about himself, about the girl. He didn't know, or maybe cause spring was here at last.
