The next day, i was walking with Sam to school. Obviously, we were also chit-chatting, so it won't be boring, but she said something that i wasn't expecting from her actually.
"Hey... have you ever had a dream since you were a kid? But I still haven't achieved it because of what people will think." Sam questioned. i nodded and looked at her, giving a worried and sad look.
"Same, since i was 5, i wanted to play soccer, i watched soccer matches on tv but my mom will always say 'that's not girly of you Samantha! Now go continue your violin lessons!' Ugh! It's so annoying!"
I let out a smile and laughed, but don't get the wrong idea, i was laughing at her nervously angry face! It was so cute to be honest. But then i continued to listen.
"And i got bullied at school for playing soccer with the other players..." i frowned because of what she just said, whoever bullied her deserves karma!
"Mostly there were only boys, no girls but me. The other players kept aggressively throwing the ball at me till i got a black eye. When I got home i definitely got in trouble. Then my mom forced me to stop and i for sure stopped... it's ok if you don't want to be my friend anymore because of this, i get it."
I looked at her with a confused and worried face, she looked at me too. I never knew she got bullied just because of a sport, like what? Girls can play sports too! I can't let her lose this dream of hers, I'm sure she won't give up yet.
"Hey Sam, don't let them stop you from doing what you've always wanted to do! There's nothing to be ashamed of, i think it's unique and cool of you that you want to play soccer."
She looked at me with a shocked face then smiled happily.
"Say... I can sign you up for soccer practice! If you want to?" i offered
"Oh! Um... i'll think about it! But not now." she replied.
"Sure!"
We eventually got to school. I saw Sam looking at the field where boys play soccer in the morning as we were walking to get inside the school.
It was after school, it unexpectedly rained as i was walking outside to the gate, suddenly someone gave me an umbrella "Here you go Lucy!" well i knew it was Sam because of the voice. It is! We then continued to walk to get to our homes, as we were walking it was still raining.
"Hey, want to hang out at my dad's house on Saturday?" said Sam.
"Hell yeah!" i happily agreed.
I agreed to meet at her dad's house on Saturday to hangout, I'm a bit nervous to meet her parents but also excited that I'm actually going to her parents' house! Then we both saw a soccer ball at the side of the street, we both looked at each other and i gave her a "let's do it." look.
Surprisingly i think she understood, and she shook her head "no" well i stepped out of the umbrella and ran to the soccer ball and kicked it at her, i looked at her "fine, I'll do it." said Sam.
We continued to play soccer at the Orchid Park field, luckily, we were close to the park so we could try playing soccer. i don't really know a lot about soccer but Sam, Sam knows a bit from watching secretly on the internet. She showed me some moves and techniques that made our day one of the best, we let out laughs and smiles to each other. Eventually we stopped since the rain got stronger and decided to actually go home this time.
