Chapter 11 Orchid Park

Orchid Park. I had memories there, where my mom and dad and i had a family picnic bonding.

Suddenly Sam called me as i was cleaning my room. Yes, todays the day i clean my messy room. I answered the call.

"Good morning-ish Lucy-!" Sam said. It was 11 AM.

"Good morning! So why'd you call?" i asked.

"Well... i've been thinking of having a picnic with you... and uh you could bring Jasper too!"

"A picnic? Hmmm... Sure! But what time?"

"Later at 2 PM! You can bring any snack you want!"

"Oh! Okay then!"

"Wait oh heck! I have to go now, cya!"

"Mhm! Sure bye!"

The call ended.

A picnic? With Sam? I got so excited and happy! I continued to clean my room.

I got down to eat dinner, i told my mom about the picnic, and she agreed! "Thank you, mom! Thank you thank you thank you!!!" i hugged her, i was so excited!

It was almost 2 PM, so I quickly packed the snacks and a picnic blanket. As I was folding the picnic blanket and putting stuff in the picnic basket, i got flashbacks of my first time having a picnic, with my whole family. I then snapped out of it and grabbed the picnic basket. I also went to get Jasper; he was in the living room. I quickly got him on a leash, i then went running outside, excited! "See you later mom!!!"

I went outside, i didn't run anymore since there's actually no reason to run, since the Orchid Park is near here. After a few minutes of walking while holding the picnic basket and holding Jasper, i finally saw an Orchid tree, which means we're at the park now! The reason why it's called Orchid Park is because there's a lot of Orchid Trees scattered all over the park, it looks really pretty.

I then saw Sam, which looked like she was looking around to see if i was coming. I then ran to surprise her, and Jasper was following, but then i suddenly let go of the leash, because Jasper ran super-fast, i almost tripped. But then i saw him running to Sam, well i guess Jasper is going to be the one to surprise Sam now. I looked and smiled, Sam noticed me in the distance, she yelled "HI LUCY!!!" next to an Orchid tree "OVER HERE!!!" she added.

I then ran over there with a smile and one hand waving to Sam.

"Oh my God, good thing you bought a picnic blanket," she said as i was getting Jasper's leash "because I forgot to bring mine at home." she added.

I let out a small laugh, she joined. I then put down the picnic basket i was holding, Sam did the same. I then tied Jasper to a tree so he couldn't just suddenly run far.

I helped set up the picnic. We sat down on the picnic blanket. "So... How are you?" i asked. "Well, uh... Tomorrows the week where i stay at my mom's house, apparently with her boyfriend," she said, the smile fades away from my face.

"This honestly frustrates me. How could she just leave dad? My father is literally the best and supportive person in my life." she added with an annoyed tone.

I was speechless and started looking at the ground with a worried face. "We-" i said but then Sam started talking. "You know what? Let's not talk about it right now," she said, i reacted with a shocked face, "i don't want anything negative on this picnic date!" she said.

"Date?" i asked.

"Uh... Ye-yes! A date... sorry if you feel uncomfortable..." she stuttered.

"Uncomfortable? Never! I'm honestly really comfortable whenever I'm with you!" i said.

I noticed how pretty she looked with her long floral dress wear. I'm just wearing a mustard yellow shirt with jumper jeans. We then started to talk about other stuff. We played with Jasper at the field. We stopped after about 20 minutes of running around and playing with Jasper, since it was exhausting.

I decided to tell Sam about Jasper... Being my dad. I held her hand as we were sitting on the picnic blanket, i looked at her to find her face shocked and turning red. Her lips suddenly caught my attention, i remember the kiss... I then quickly removed my hand from her hand and looked away embarrassed and blushing. Lucy! You're such a weirdo! I then took a deep breath, i looked at her again, though she was looking away.

"Sam... I've got to tell you something." i said, she then slowly looked at me with confusion.

"So... Jasper is actually my dad." i said with hesitation.

"Huh? Wait, what do you mean by that?" she asked.

"You know my dad's dead right? Well... I thought of the idea that my dad must have reincarnated as Jasper... I mean reincarnation is real right-?"

"Lucy... so you mean Jasper IS your dad?! Wha-what! How are you sure though?"

"I had a feeling!" i said and then checked to see what Jasper or should i say my dad, was doing "last night, to make sure, i also did a test, well he got it all right." i added.

Sams eyes were shocked, she then turned her head to Jasper, he was sleeping. We stayed quiet for a while, it was peaceful, windy and bright, it felt nice. I turned to Sam, she looked concerned. "Hey, are you okay? You seem off." i asked. She just looked at me, "You look really pretty." she said, i think she's avoiding the question, but i don't want to bother her anymore. "Oh! U- th-thank you!" i said. I then looked at the time, it was 4:30 PM Time goes so fast.

I then saw a text popped up; it was mom. "Sweetie, can you help me bake these muffins?" she chatted. I got up and Sam noticed. "Hey uh...I have to go home now... Heh- sorry my mom wants help on her muffins right now." i said. Then Sam stood up. "Oh! Yeah, sure!" she said. I then clean up and put back the blanket in the basket and the leftover foods. I went to get Jasper, he looked excited to go home, then suddenly Sam hugged me from behind, i was shocked! She then let go. I turned to her as i blushed.

"Uh... Oh my god! I'm so sorry for the sudden hug! I-i uh..." she shuttered.

"May i come with you. My curfew time hast came yet so..." Sam said.

"O-of course!" i said as i smiled, she then looked at me with shock, then hugged me again.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!" she shouted with excitement.

We both started walking to my mom's house, while i was holding Jasper. In the middle of walking, i looked at her, she looked embarrassed. She caught me looking at her. "So sorry, I'm not used to uh knowing Jasper is your dad now..."

I laughed, she noticed she joined but with an awkward one. "Don't be! I'm sure he's okay with you being around." i said. She smiled then turned to Jasper.

We were at the front door of my house. We walked inside and she then said "Wow... I've always wanted to come inside here!" she then realized what she said and turned red. "Oh welcome home sweetie! And hey there Samantha, Lucy texted me that you were coming."
