Chapter 9 House of the past II

My eyes got even bigger. I hugged her back, if she sees me as Charlotte. I'll hug her like she's actually hugging Charlotte, since i bet she misses one of her children. But i don't get it. I look nothing like Charlotte.

Suddenly i heard my phone ring. I held Mrs. Shoulders and got her back on her chair next to the window. "Just wait for a minute, Mrs. Smith." i said, as i was making her comfortable sitting on her chair. I then walked back, going to the corner of her room, i looked at who was calling me, it was Sam. i was hesitating and thinking if i should answer it or not. I answered.

"Finally! You picked it up! Hey, why aren't you in school? The drama club is wondering where you are, are you ok? Did you get sick?" said Sam in a concerned voice.

"Um..." i said as i was panicking and confused about what to say.

"Darling? Who is that...?" said Mrs. Smith.

"Charlotte? Hey Lucy, who was that??" Sam said.

I was so confused about what to say.

"Uh... Tha-that was... My grandma! I v-visited her today! That's why I'm not in school right now." i stuttered. Finally, i thought of an excuse!

"Oh! Okay then, I'll inform the teachers! By the way, who's uh, Charlotte...?"

"Charlotte's my cousin! Yeah!"

"Oh... Okay okay! I'll be going now, be safe ba- i mean. Yeah! Be safe!" said Sam. What did she say?

"Mhm..."

She then hung up. Mrs. Smith was looking at me confused. I proceeded to tell her that was my friend, which was actually true. She then smiled at me. After an hour of talking and asking her questions, i told her i had to leave. "I have to go now Mrs. Smith! Get better!" i said. "Bye darling!" said Mrs. Smith. She thinks I'm still Charlotte...

I opened the door to find one of Mrs. Children standing in front with 4 bodyguards at her back. Huh? What is this? I looked at them confused. One of the children of Mrs. Smith looked through the door to see Mrs. Smith.

She snaps her fingers twice. "Okay go now," she said. The 4 bodyguards then walked away. I was still confused "And you, go now too if your business is done." she added.

I walked away to go downstairs, i looked back and saw still staring at me, i quickly looked away with nervousness. That was honestly scary.

I then went outside and started to walk to the huge gate out of the rich neighborhood. The guard of the huge gate opened the gate, i continued to walk out of the neighborhood, he proceeded to close it without a single word to say.

I got another uber to get home in time for lunch, it was still 11:30 AM.

I finally got home, my mom asked why i was here and suddenly went to school without eating or saying anything. "Um, i was on a hurry," i said "I'm here because i forgot to bring something for the drama club." i added. "Oh, sure sweetie, do you want to eat lunch here or at school? I'll cook you something" she said, as she got up from the chair. I then saw Jasper running at me, it looks like he missed me so much already. As usual.

"Oh hey Jasper! Also, sure mom I'll eat here." I said, as i was playing with Jasper and looking at my mom. I still felt bad for Sam because i got her worried about me. I miss her.

I was done eating lunch, the perfect time to go to school even though I'm half late. Jasper got my school bag already and gave it to me, i didn't need to change my outfit since today is the day where we can wear anything we want, something appropriate of course. I already packed the school things in my bag while my mom was cooking lunch for me earlier.

I went ahead and said goodbye to mom and Jasper.
