Part 16

I silently made my way inside the house, Varsha guided me to her board room where sammy was.
I made sure there is pin drop silence,
There I saw my angel drawing.
Felt like she was occupied In her work

I took a glance at Varsha's neat and clean house,
It was kept tidy in every possible way. There were paintings on the wall made by her.
With many photo frames the house gave an artistic and welcoming vibe.

I hugged my daughter,
She screamed looking at me.
Her excitement fills my heart up. Varsha was smiling at us.
Her angelic smile.
I smiled back to her and we all sat down to eat.

She made Misal PAV, one of my favorite. I like how she remembers every single details about me. She was constantly laughing at the dad jokes made by me. It made me happy to see her happy. I wonder if she used to smile the way she is smiling now when she was with Rajveer.

The curiousity of what Rajveer might have done to her was eating me up. A part of me wanted to know what happened with her. But I am to scared to ask this to her or even Virat.

After lunch sammy went to pack the bags. We were sitting awkwardly In the hall. She broke the tension and said
“ I wanted to tell you something"
She paused for a second " About sammy"

Varsha's pov

" I wanted to tell you something, about sammy"
This was eating me up the day incident took place.
" Yeah" He seemed relaxed. I wonder if he will be relaxed after hearing the news.

" Two days ago sammy broke down. In the night. She wanted you. She calmed down a little while after that. But the thing is,
She is not able to sleep properly. She wanted someone's comfort"

I don't know how to put this up but I tried,
" You know the motherly comfort"the time stopped after that.
I gave him the reason why I felt so,
" Rohit, don't get me wrong but you know right, sammy is still a kid and needs someone around.
There's mothers day after ten days and her new school will be celebrating it with mothers.
They gave the notice and events taking place. Sammy asked me
About her mother's whereabouts "
Rohit sighed frustrated. He ran his fingers around his head.

I came beside him and hold his hand " I told her I don't know actually. But she was crying continuously. Later she calmed down and slept"
Rohit did not even look up at me.
He intervened his fingers with me.

" I am sorry Rohit" I felt very guilty for not taking proper care of sammy and she had to cry under my care.
Wish I could give her a better life and be the reason she smile every time. Even Rohit.

" You don't have to apologize Varsha it's fine " He put his shoulder around me and tried to rub my back. I went all melancholic because I felt bad.

" I am worried, what will I do? "
She is obviously going to ask rohit and he isn't even prepared.

" I have an idea " I said. His eyes met mine. I shrugged my shoulders. I hope this idea works. I hope I come to help in any sort of way I could.

" What? " He said " What is the idea, Varsha tell me "

Sammy came down yelling that she cleaned the room too. I realized the close proximity I had with Rohit and we quickly sat back normally. Away from each other.

" You didn't have to do that Sammy. I was free today I could have done that "
I said but Rohit cut me off
" No baby girl. You did a good job I am proud of you" Such a loving dad. How can someone leave him..

We both got up and went to the elevator. Rohit was tapping the floor of elevator continuously.
We kept stealing glances of each other. I looked down and blushed.
Rohit is having such a bad effect on me.

Before they could get to his car Sammy ran towards me and hugged me tightly. I picked her up. She was giggling. Rohit said,
" Aren't you supposed to say something beta "
Sammy nodded cutely and said,
" Thank you veee, thank you for taking care of me "

" Aee that's not a problem, you are always welcomed ok. Next time you come I'll buy more chocolates for you"
Rohit glared at me, we both laughed at his expression,
" She doesn't brush her teeth twice. No chocolates for her. "
He said scrunching his nose.

" Lair, she brushed her teeth in the night when she was with me, see Sammy how he lies. I know you brush your teeths, he just doesn't want you to eat"
I teased him. I made an eye contact which said ' beat me ' he just scoffed. Defeat. I won.

We girls erupted in laughter again. Rohit quickly pulled me in a quick hug. His warmth embraced me. I felt relieved.

" Thank you " He whispered in my ears.

" I swear to God if you two said thanks to me again. I hate the word thanks " He scoffed.
I chuckled a little. She's cute.

We got in the car. I pulled the windows down, Sammy also settled in and we went out. Varsha was waving at us from behind. I gave a little bye to her.
On the other hand my daughter was screaming something from the window. I pulled the windows up. She looked at me angrily but gave up. Hahaha. Perks of being a dad.

I felt like something was missing.
Then I realized SHIT THE IDEA!!!

I was about to reverse my car when the phone tinged. I handled the stearing wheel from my one hand and reached out for the phone in my pocket.

" Meet me in golden Dragon chinese cafe bandra. We'll discuss it later"
Came her Message.

Another one " Don't bring Sammy "

I gave a thumbs up at her Message and kept my phone back in the pocket.
Sammy demanded to play game on it but I refused. What a typical dad I am.

She didn't argue back but quietly sat on the seat. Good girl.
