When we finally get through the security line, we make it to our flight area and sit down.
I lean my head back and close my eyes.
"You look tired," Devyn says.
"I'm not tired," I mutter.
"Are you—"
"I'm not fucking tired," I groan.
"Why are you mad now?" He narrows his eyes at me.
"I'm not mad," I snap.
"You've been mad ever since we got here," he says.
"No," I mumble.
"I know you miss her, and I'm sorry she can't be here with you, I really am, but being mad all week isn't going to help us," he says quietly.
"I'm not mad," I whisper, digging my palms into my eyes.
"I miss Leia, Grayson. Hell, it's only been an hour and I already miss being near her. I know you miss Emery," he says.
"This is going to be a shitty trip," I mutter.
"It's only going to be shitty if you have a shitty attitude the whole fucking time," he argues.
"I'm going to have a shitty attitude because my girlfriend isn't here," I grunt.
"Just think of it this way, when you get back, you'll get to have amazing sex. It'll feel so good since you—"
"Okay, I get it, thank you, Devyn," I shake my head.
"Any time," he winks.
"I'm going to the bathroom," I mutter, standing up.
I walk through the crowded lobby until I find a bathroom.
My phone beeps and I dig it out of my pocket.
Emery: Hi love.
Emery: What are you doing?
I smile to myself before responding.
Grayson: Nothing.
Emery: That's boring.
Grayson: I know.
Emery: When does your flight leave?
Grayson: An hour and a half. We start boarding in thirty minutes.
Emery: Can I call you?
Grayson: Yes.
My phone rings and I quickly answer it.
"Hi, pretty girl," I breathe.
"Hi," she says. "I miss you."
"I miss you, too," I whisper. "Are you home yet?"
"Yeah," she sighs.
"You don't sound happy about that," I murmur.
"I'm bored," she whines. "It's just me and Leia here."
"Aria isn't there?" I ask.
"Nope," she exhales.
"Why not?" I mumble.
"Can you keep a secret?" She says, her voice getting quiet.
"Yeah," I whisper.
"She's at Stella's house," she says.
"Stella?" I mumble.
"Mhm. She's a girl on the cheer team with Leia. Her and Aria are dating," she explains. "Don't tell anyone, though. I wasn't supposed to say anything."
