"Be my girlfriend?" She whispered in my ear.

"Huh"

"Be my girlfriend," she said again, and I cleared my throat. I didn't want to ruin the moment, but she already did by asking that. How could you ask someone you met two weeks ago to be your girlfriend and you don't even know her. How do I say no politely?

"Hello. Is anyone here?!" We both heard someone shout downstairs. She got off me, and we both got off the bed.

"Are you expecting someone?" I asked Kiara

"What? No. I'm having a date with you." She answered

"Should we go check?" I asked.

"Probably." She answered. We got out of the room and went downstairs. "How did they get in?" she thought out loud.

"Hey Tabitha. We got to go. I found something, " the person said, their voice sounding a bit funny.

"What is she doing here?" Kiara asked.

"What the hell are you doing here?! And how did you find me?!" I asked her.

"That.... That, my dear friend, doesn't matter. Sorry to dis..disturb but we have to go." She said, looking at her watch. "We'll take your car." She said and went outside, walking in a zig zag line.

"Is she drunk?" Kiara asked, and I raised my shoulders. "Okay, is there something going on between you and her because she keeps on showing up when you and I are together saying you have to leave?" Kiara asked.

"No, there isn't, listen, I have to go but I will talk to you tomorrow!" I answered quickly while taking my bag and leaving. I never thought I would say this, but I am happy that Jadah came. Otherwise, things would have been awkward in there.

I opened the car, and Jadah got in the passenger seat while I was in the driver's seat. Kiara opened the gate, and I drove out. "Okay, seriously, Jadah, we need to set some boundaries. And rules! You can't be showing up whenever I'm with someone. How did you even find me?" I asked her.

"A magician never...never re...reveals her secrets!" She answered, her sounding funny.

"Are you drunk right now?"

"Maayyybe," she laughed.

"Oh my goodness. Why did you even come here? To me."

"I don't know. You're the only person I know this side, and you were closer to where I was. "

"Okay, seriously. How did you know I was here?"

"There's a device, in...in your bag." She said, laughing. "

"What the hell, Jadah!" I yelled. "I'm taking you home, and the minute you talk to me tomorrow, I am shouting at you! Was there really a mission?"

"No, but I was hoping we could be friends," she continued laughing. Lord have mercy. I took her phone and put my number in and called myself so that I would save hers.

"Where do you stay?"

"I don't know. Where do you stay. Maybe we can stay together. " This is madness. If I knew Jadah correctly, she wasn't one to drink alcohol to the point where she got drunk. There was definitely something wrong with her. I stopped asking her questions and decided to take her to my dorm room, but I had to sneak her in.

When I got there, I put her in my bed and covered her with a blanket, and took another one for me to sleep with on the couch. Before sleeping, I decided to check my phone, and I saw a message from Max.

Max:
*Please come. It's an emergency*

Tabitha
*What's wrong?*

Max
*Can't discuss it over the phone*

I immediately took my car keys and went out. The security guards didn't want to let me go at first because it was nine pm, but I told them it was an emergency and they let me go. Whenever things like this happened with Max, I would buy him ice cream and chocolate because he loved them and made him feel a bit better. I drove around to see if there were any shops open and luckily there was one. I bought some chips, sweets, ice cream and chocolate then went to his place. I knocked on the door but he didn't answer so I opened the door for myself.

When I got in, I saw him laying on the couch, his face on the pillow, and I heard some crying sounds. "Max, babe, are you okay?" I dropped the plastic bag containing the snacks on the floor and went over to him and sat next to him. "No. Scott broke up with me." He lifted his head from the pillow and put it on my thighs. "I love him so much," I heard his thoughts.

"I am so sorry. I brought ice cream and chocolate!"

"Can I have it?"

"Okay." I got up and fetched the ice cream and fetched two spoons from the kitchen. I went back to him, and he sat upright. I gave him the ice cream tub to hold and a spoon to eat. "When did he do it?"

"To...to...today. I thought I could .....continue like it ....it...didn't hap...pen without crying but I coul....couldn't"

"Hey, it's okay. Crying is okay. At the end of the day, you loved him. You're going to be okay eventually, but for now, let it all out and let yourself feel the emotions. And while you do that, I'm going to find him. "

"Please don't hurt him,"

"I can't promise that."

"Please,"

"Okay! I'll try not to, " I said. "Max, I have early classes tomorrow, and I need to leave. "

"You can leave in the morning. Stay over, please."

"I'd love to, but Jadah is in my dorm, and I need to be there when she wakes up before she does God knows what over there."

"Wait, Jadah is at your house?"

"Yeah. I was at Kiara's having a date and then she showed up but I'm low-key glad because Kiara was asking for something and I didn't know how to answer but then Jadah was really drunk and couldn't tell me where she lives so she had to come with me. A very crazy story which I will tell you about next time, but for now, focus on you."

"Well, that's a lot. I'll see you sometime tomorrow, maybe?"

"If you come during my shift, then yes. Anyway, let me get going." I stood up and took my car keys.

"Tab."

"Yes?"

"Thank you. For this. "

"No problem, that's what besties are for. I'm leaving bye!"

"Bye!" He said, and I left. I don't know how I was going to handle the situation with Jadah or Kiara, but I knew that it was something I would have to do. It's times like this I wish mom was here. She would've been able to help, but now I'm all alone. I do have grandma, but it's not the same.
