I woke up around seven because my class was at nine and also because the couch was a bit uncomfortable. I brushed my teeth and made breakfast for both Jadah and I.

"Morning," Jadah said, entering the kitchen.

"Oh look who's awake," I said, mocking her.

"Please don't start, I have a pounding headache."

"Yeah, because you drank a lot of alcohol yesterday! Here you go. Have this smoothie, it will help. "  I gave her a mixture I got from YouTube.

"Thank you." she took the smoothie, and our hands touched. "She can't find out the truth," I heard her thoughts.

"Find out what?" I asked her

"Shit! I forgot you're an empath. This green smoothie is disgusting. "

"Don't change the topic"

"I don't want you to find out the real reason I came to you last night."

"I already know. you said it's because I'm the only one you know around here."

"That and also because I don't have a place to stay. Hidden Ville is really far away from here, "

"Where have you been staying all along?"

"Where we work?"

"Why didn't you ask your father for money or a place to stay? He has a lot of connections."

"Because him and I aren't speaking right now. If I ask him for anything, he's going to force me to become demon overlord, and I don't want that. I am already part of the EOC, I can't be both. So can I stay here?" She asked. I was on campus. If they knew she was staying here, I would get in trouble. I also don't want her staying here because it's going to be hard to be in the same room with her without wanting to do anything with her.

"Okay, but you have to keep a low profile. If anyone finds out that you live here, I'm dead meat, "

"Who still says 'dead meat'"

"Jadah!"

"Sorry."

"If you're going to be living here, we need some rules:

1. My clothes are mine. Alone. Don't wear them.
2. You're sleeping on the couch
3. Never open the door for anyone unless it's Max."

"Who's Max?"

"My best friend, anyway

4. Do not follow me anywhere
5. Don't stalk me like you did last night. It's creepy. just give me a call when you need me. My numbers are saved on your phone.

Are we clear"

"Yes, mam,"

"Now, I have a class in an hour, I'm going to get ready."

I went to the bathroom, took a shower, and got ready for class. Today I wasn't having a class with Kiara, which is great because I don't exactly know how to talk to her after yesterday. Hopefully, I don't bump into her today.

Mr Banks gave us an assignment which was due next week, so I had enough time to work on it, and hopefully, magic wouldn't get in the way of my studies. After class, I went to the cafe to start my shift.

"Hey Tabitha," Zach greeted me. "Zara is waiting for you at the back.

"Hey, thanks." I answered and went to the back. I put my bag in the corner and wore an apron.

"Hey Tabitha," Zara greeted me, a smile on her face.

"Hey. What am I learning today?" I asked

"Nothing. You're done learning. Now you just bake."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Isn't that exciting?!"

"I guess." it wasn't really exciting because this meant less time spent with Zara in the kitchen because I could bake by myself. "I don't know how to make bread!" I said quickly.

"Like a sandwich?" She asked

"No. How to bake bread."

"You don't need to know that. I'm the one who always makes it, so you won't need to."

"I might. Just teach me how to make it."

"Fine... You're acting a bit weird."

"No, I'm not!"

"Okay." We got started, and she taught me how to make freshly baked bread. Max showed up at the cafe and came to the back to talk while I was working. At first, Zara didn't allow it, but Max promised to help as long as he got to talk to me. When my shift ended, I got a text from Jadah saying that she found the fally Phillis and I should hurry. I didn't know where to go so she said I should go home and she'll teleport us to where it was.

"Okay, I got all the things we need to capture it, we should go now." She said, and I grabbed on to her. "I hope we don't die," I heard her thoughts.

"There's a chance we could die?!" I asked her.

"Maybe. Now hold on tight, " she said and teleported us to where the creature was.

"Wait, this is it?" I whispered as she got ready to capture it.

"Yes, now keep quiet." She said, getting closer to it. The creature looked different from how it was in the book. It was less taller than I expected it to be. It was human looking except the horns that stood out. Instead of having black hair, the hair was dark green.

"Do you have a plan?" I asked her.

"Yeah. Stay there and wait for my signal. I'm going to stab it with this syringe I have, which will temporarily paralyze it, allowing us to take it to the Magicas center and contain it there. When I'm done, I'll call you, and you grab on to me quickly so that we can leave. Got it?" She asked, and I nodded.

She got closer to it, and it turned around, facing her. It shot its green goo, and she ducked, and it hit a random plant that turned black. She went even closer to it and tried to stab it, but it went back a few steps, as it was about to shoot more goo, Jadah held its arm with her left hand. It freed itself from her grip by shaking it's body and Jadah landed on the ground on her back.

"Jadah! Are you okay?!" I shouted, moving from where I was, and the fally Phillis looked at me and came closer

"Yes. Just stay back." She answered, and I did as she said. She slowly stood up, preventing the fally Phillis from getting to me. She grabbed its arm and stabbed it with the syringe, which looked like it worked as it froze. "I think I got it! Come quickly!" She said, and I got closer to her.

As I was about to grab her waist, the fally Phillis started moving. It pushed Jadah away from it, and she fell again, scratching her face this time. I immediately ran to her and tried picking her up. "We need to go now! It's coming!" I said and held on to her. She teleported us to the Magicas center and fell on the ground. "Are you okay?" I asked her.

"Of course not!" She said, and I got closer to her. Her arm and cheek were bleeding. "There are some bandaids in the shelve next to that table," she pointed.

"Is there anything I can clean your wounds with?"

"I don't know. Just get the bandages!"

"No. You might get an infection." I said and looked for cotton wool and some Dettol.

"Please don't get clean the wound. It's painful."

"Fine. I'll use my power. Stay still." I said, positioning my right hand on top of her arm and my left hand on her cheek and healed her.

"This is less painful," I heard her thought.

"I can't believe you're scared of cleaning your wounds." I teased her.

"I forgot she can hear my thoughts. Hey Tabitha," I heard her thought.

"This is not a game, Jadah."

"But it's fun,"

"Oh my goodness." I thought.
