It's been a week since the wedding since Zeus made me feel like nothing could come between us. Like she really wanted and missed me.

After leaving the bathroom, we got a few strange looks and what looked like a proud smile from Posideon. Hades was too preoccupied with when Perpshone would show up to worry about us. She didn't end up showing, and Hades got sad and drunk. That's never good.

Zeus's mother didn't look ashamed or happy about what she heard. She just kept her distance from us the rest of the night.

Zeus didn't care. Her eyes were only on me. Her hands were over my body. We danced and danced until my feet felt like there were going to fall apart.

After the wedding, we flew back home. On the jet, Zeus made sure to keep close to me. Holding my hand the entire time. Im sure she wanted to do more, but she backed out. When she drove me home, it was almost three in the morning. She looked like she wanted to come in but kissed me goodbye.

The kiss wasn't fierce like the last time, but it wasn't PG, either. All I can say is that I slept beautifully when I went to bed that night despite her not being there with me.

That morning she asked me if I wanted to get breakfast, which thrilled me. I hurried into the shower, brushed my teeth, and when she showed up to pick me up, I ran into her arms.

That breakfast was our only 'date' in the past week, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

That leads us to now, Hestia's baby shower.

We walked through her house door, hand in hand. My swollen-belly sister wobbled over to us with her hands out, a giant smile on her face.

"Oh, my goodness! Zeus! It's been too long!" she squealed, walking right past me and over to Zeus, pulling her into a big hug. Zeus had to let go of my hand to hug my sister back. Hestia has always loved Zeus. They have an odd relationship, though.

Alexander came up behind her when Zeus let go. "You've gotten really big since the last time I've seen you." Zeus pointed out.

Hestia still had a smile on her face, not offended. "Any other person would slap you for that comment, but because I'm in a good mood, I'll let it slide."

Alexander laughed from her side. Placing his arm around her waist. "Don't worry. I'll catch the heat later today when everyone is gone." Hestia hit his stomach.

"The baby is late, and it's killing me. Not even born yet, and is already stubborn." Hestia grumbled.

Zeus and I laughed. "Mmm, I wonder where he gets it from." I blurted.

She just rolled her eyes. "Heads up, Mom and Dad are here, and they have been expecting you."

Zeus hummed. "Seems a lot of parents around here are expecting their children." she joked.

I told Zeus about what happened at lunch a while ago. While Zeus loves my parent, she understands why I'm usually really hesitant to see them. Even if they are in a good mood. Zeus grabbed my hand again, squeezing it.

"I'll find them later. Today isn't about me or them. It's about you." I smiled at her.

She shrugged. "Honestly, a good distraction will be best. Sex hasn't been the best one. Shameful, really. I really love having it." she pouted. Alexander just coughed into his fist awkwardly and averted his gaze from Zeus and me.

"Sex is the best kind of distraction."

Hestia laughed. "I heard. Especially at weddings." she looked over at me.

I cleared my throat, pointing to the sea of people my sister entitled to her house. "Where's the food? I'm starving?"

We've been here maybe an hour, and Zeus and I have done a fantastic job dodging my parents. We've talked to some people. It seems Hestia isn't the only pregnant person here.

Zeus was stuffing her mouth with a tiny slider. "We never talked about kids, strange considering we're married. Do you want them?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

She just looked at me, chewing her food. A few seconds went by, and she sipped on her water. Alcohol is available here, but she's driving and didn't want to chance anything.

She licked her lips. Fond memories of that tongue entered my mind. She shrugged. "Kids, were always something I kept at the back of my mind. Sometimes I think about it, but it's in situations like, 'Oh fuck I'm going to have to buy school stuff!' Whenever I see the school supplies come out." she said with a straight face.

Something about that seems untrue. "So, do you want them or not?" I pushed.

She pinched the bridge of her nose, sighing. "I don't know. When I was younger, the answer was no, because I didn't..." She paused. "If I would have had them, I would've had to keep them away from Father." She said finally.

I didn't understand why she wanted to keep our kids from him. He was always so nice. Why wouldn't she want her kids... our kids around him? I always saw a hesitance with the Tolliver siblings around him, but I never understood why. I thought it was maybe because he was an intimidating businessman who pushed them. That may not be the reason.

She must have seen the confusion on my face because she looked like she wanted to explain more, but her gaze kept cutting to everyone in the room.

I grabbed her hand, pulling her toward the kitchen. I looked around to see if it was empty. When I finished, I turned back to her.

"Why wouldn't you want them around your dad?"

Zeus groaned like a child, shifting back and forth on her feet. "It's your sister's baby shower. This isn't really the time and place to talk about this," she said softly.

          Time and place? I frowned.

"If it's so bad that you can't talk about it right now, how did I never know how bad it was?" I asked, and she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"Because I didn't want you to know anything about him. It was bad enough; I had to live through it." She said a little louder than I think she intended to.

Just as I was about to question her more, I heard a loud scream come from the living room. Zeus and I rushed out of the kitchen and to the living room. Hestia was grunting, kneeling on the ground, holding her belly.

Alexander was behind her. "She's in labor. Can one of you call our doctor, tell him what's going on and that we are on our way." his calm tone was shocking.

I nodded my head. "Of course!"

I rushed over, grabbing his phone with the doctor's contact pulled up. Everyone in the room was looking at us with shocked and concerned expressions.

Zeus placed her hand on my shoulder, "I'm gonna go get the car ready." she said, the phone ringing in my ear.

Hestia looked pained. I knew birth was painful, but this looked different. Something feels wrong.
