"MC!" A sweet and familiar voice broke my train of thought, and before I could register, my (kind of) former girlfriend Penny Haywood came into view and gave me a tight embrace right as I began to account for my surroundings.

While Diagon Alley itself didn't change much in the past year of global exploration, the blonde potion-brewer in front of me certainly had.

In the many months since I had last seen Penny, she's grown from a cute girl into a gorgeous young woman who some noticeable developments, not only was she taller, hair longer, but also curvaceous in both her bust size and but-

"MC, are you trying to win a staring contest? because my eyes are up here~"

Maybe trying to figure out a long distance relationship may have been a good idea.

After silently using accio on my eyes, I found them meeting with Penny's ever beautiful blue ones.

"S-sorry! I ah, got distracted by your new.. outfit."

She probably won't believe it, but she does sport a nice brown jacket to fit with her form fitting buttoned up white shirt.
Penny shifts from a small frown back to her excited smile, saying,

"I'm SO happy to see you! How have things been since you went on your trip around the Wizarding World? Meet any new friends?"

I can't help but smile at her sheer excitement, happiness like that is contagious in a way.

"Honestly most of the work at my job asks me to mainly deal with 'curses and dark magic' related cases as subtly as possible so I won't attract any unwanted attention."

Penny starts to give me that 'tell me more' face, so even if my favorite supervisor says otherwise, he can choke on a dementor's wand.

"My special super-secret job at ROCC(D) is full of agents from all over the globe, but I've gotten close to a pair, Callum McClintock and Ruby Honeysuckle-"

Right as I mention Ruby's name, I notice a small change in Penny's expression, as if a small piece of her happiness had withered away in her eyes.

"Which both are just good friends kind of like how Rowan and Ben were back in my first year, before I met you of course-"

Penny gives a slight pained look before deciding to change the subject,

"I'm glad you decided you choose Diagon Alley for a flat, Badeea is really helpful with the moving in process."

Maybe I should tell Penny about the one time I went on a date with Badeea back before we dated.... But that's best left unsaid.

"Yeah, I just don't have a lot of history with any other Wizarding community and my new workplace is right around the corner."

"And maybe a little to do with me working in the Apothecary here too?"

Penny asks with a glimpse of hope in her voice as she strokes her long ponytail.

"How could I not resist living here with my favorite person? And unlike Ben you're not trying to avoid me-"

I stop realizing that I may have shared too much with the former most popular girl in Hogwarts.

"Ben? I knew he said he wanted to start fresh in America, but I don't believe he would completely ignore one of his best friends-"

Penny gives me a worrying look.
