[Nitrate POV]

The final events of the Cell Games continued as I predicted, with Gohan defeating the Android with a Kamehameha to save the Earth. Although Goku's presence definitely had an impact on the final battle, the overall ending was definitely the same as both the anime and Manga in my old world.

This left me satisfied, and I gave myself to the afterlife with little-to-no regrets. I would have King Kai to accompany me during the next seven years of death, until the Buu Arc officially began, and then I would meet Beerus in Super.

Goku and the Z Fighters attempted to resurrect me using the Dragon Balls -- and when that didn't work, they made plans to visit Namek and use their orbs to bring me back to life. However, I refused their offer and continued relaxing alongside King Kai on his -now our- personal little world.

King Kai: "You know, I've been wondering... Why didn't you take the wish? You could go back, spend time with your friends, spar a little with Goku and Vegeta...."

Nitrate: "Eh. I'm not interested in sparring anymore. And besides, having the older brother of Frieza on Earth would probably cause issues with other aliens in the universe who want to seek revenge on my family."

King Kai: "Yeah, I can see how that would cause a lot of problems."

The two of us continued standing on the grasslands of his miniature planet, basking in the calming breeze that began to caress our bodies. It was a nice moment, one where we didn't have to worry about ancient evil or potential villains who wanted to destroy Earth and its inhabitants for fun.

King Kai: "Well, looks like you're going to be staying here for a while... For eternity, to be more specific. Anything you wanted to do?"

Nitrate: "Hmm... I can't really think of anything. I might do some small training every now and then, but besides that, I can't imagine doing anything else other than relaxing."

There was a momentary silence between us, before King Kai released a loud chuckle. He snorted through his nose as he grasped at the front of his blue face, which caused me to laugh alongside him. The absurdity of it all -- it was simply too much for us to bear, and we decided to dwell within the moment and look on the brighter side.

Although I was no longer amongst the living, there was a strange familiarity with the interaction between us. Almost like when I joked and laughed with Goku and some of the Z Fighters during our training for the Androids. There was a strong feeling of humour and enjoyment that felt natural.

[3rd POV]

The Z Fighters stood on the lookout. It had been a few minutes since they had used the Dragon Balls to attempt Nitrate's resurrection, but the Frost Demon had refused their offer of returning to the world of the living. They all felt confused and angered by his decision, but in the end, they had no choice but to accept it and move on.

Krillin had decided to use Shenron's power to remove the bombs from the two Androids -17 and 18- when his plan to make them human again proved to be impossible for the Dragon Balls to achieve. This earned him a potential shot with Android 18 as she thanked him for his help and left.

This left everyone on the Lookout confused, but they all decided to ignore his love story and continue with their lives. Nitrate was gone, but Cell was defeated, and that meant the Earth was saved from destruction once again. There was nothing left for the Z Fighters to do, but move forward with their lives and build anew.

Tien: "I should be getting home. Chiaotzu will be worried about me. We probably won't see each other again, so take care of yourselves."

Yamcha: "Yeah... See you later, Tien."
