It was just a little white lie. It wasn't major, and it was definitely needed, considering the fact that I definitely couldn't walk without a bit of a limp thanks to Colt. When my parents and Lacey came knocking on my door this morning, I faked a headache and stomachache, and they left me alone to go explore whatever island we docked at this morning. I expected to spend all day alone in my room, and I was going to read to fill the time, but about an hour after my parents and Lacey presumably left the boat, there was another knock on the door.

I kind of thought it was Lacey at first, and she lied to our parents and told them that she wasn't feeling well either, just to come back and catch me in my lie. However, it wasn't her. It was Colt. Apparently, he lied to his parents too, but only after he saw my parents leave the boat without me.

We haven't left my room since he came to join me this morning. I didn't stop reading my book, mainly because it just got to the interesting part when he knocked on the door, but it didn't seem to bother Colt at all. If I'm being completely honest, I'm too sucked into a different world, and if it weren't for the fact that he's currently using my thigh as a pillow and I'm technically using his chest as a footrest for my other leg, I probably wouldn't even realize that he's here with me.

However, once the book gets to a part that I really can't seem to imagine, I have to lay the book down and stare at the ceiling in an attempt to figure out how that would even be possible. Three guys at once? That just doesn't even seem possible. That sounds like a lot of work for one person, if I'm being honest. I mean, I know how a foursome would work, but what was just described to me on that page just doesn't seem like it'd actually be realistic. Then again, it is a fantasy novel...

"You look confused." I look down at Colt when he speaks, just to immediately catch his eyes. His eyebrow is slightly raised, as if he's silently asking me to tell him why I'm confused.

"Just a little." I pick up the book again, refusing to tell him anything else. He doesn't need to know, and I definitely don't want to let him know exactly what I'm reading.

He doesn't pry or interrupt me from getting back to reading. That's a new thing that I've never experienced before. Every time I attempted to read around Josh, he would interrupt me and basically called me a bitch for never paying attention to him while we were hanging out. It made me feel like shit, so I stopped reading while I was around him. It wasn't only Josh either, it was my parents too. They always get upset when I lock myself in my room to read a book, so when I started sitting in the living room while I read, they just got upset because I wasn't really there with them, and I was purely focused on the world inside of the book. So, with the fact that they didn't like me reading while I was with them, and Josh arguing with me every time I read a book around him, I resorted to reading practically the entire night. Needless to say, it fucked up my sleep schedule.

I only brought these books with me on this cruise because I expected to be stuck in my room alone the entire time, because I wasn't planning on doing anything else unless I was forced to. I just didn't expect to meet Colt and get along with him like I do, but he's not stopping me from reading. I'm kind of glad about that, but it could also be because he's on his phone now that we have service again.
