Chapter 2| Beneath the Moonlit Sky

The Fourth Great Ninja War had lasted a year, & had left the shinobi world scarred, both physically and emotionally. The days following the last battle of the war were filled with a mix of relief and grief, as the shinobi mourned their fallen comrades and began the process of rebuilding their lives. Among those who had faced the turmoil head-on were Kakashi Hatake and Sakura Haruno, two individuals whose paths had intertwined in ways they were only beginning to realize.

In the aftermath of the war, everywhere, there were teams of ninja repairing the damage, civilians returning to their homes, and wounded shinobi being tended to by the medics. Sakura, with her unrivaled medical skills, was at the forefront of this effort. She spent long hours in the makeshift medical tents, healing injuries and soothing hearts, even as her own heart carried the weight of the losses.

The sun had set, casting a soft glow over the mountains as the moon took its place in the sky. Sakura Haruno walked through the quiet dirt road, her steps carrying a weariness that extended beyond the physical. As a skilled medical ninja, she had spent the day tending to the injuries of her comrades—Naruto and Sasuke, who had been through so much and yet emerged victorious.

But despite the outward strength she exuded, Sakura carried a burden deep within her—a recurring nightmare that haunted her nights, making sleep an elusive companion

But despite the outward strength she exuded, Sakura carried a burden deep within her—a recurring nightmare that haunted her nights, making sleep an elusive companion. The genjutsu Sasuke had put her in, had really left its mark on her psyche, a constant reminder of insecurities and vulnerability.

On this particular night, Sakura found herself unable to rest. The weight of the past events seemed heavier than ever, and the shadows of her thoughts only grew darker as she lay in her cot, trying to escape the clutches of her own mind. In a moment of desperation, she quietly slipped out of her tent and made her way to a nearby riverbank, hoping the sound of flowing water would soothe her restless thoughts.
