Chapter 5: In the Grip of Jealousy 🌸 1/2

Flashback ⇥

Sakura's day at the hospital had been nothing short of exhausting. It seemed like the injured ninja just kept coming, one after another. As the evening sun painted the sky in warm hues of orange and pink, all she longed for was a moment of rest and a good meal. Tomorrow, she had an early training session with Kakashi, something she genuinely looked forward to, but tonight, she craved comfort and relaxation.

Amidst the exhaustion, her thoughts frequently strayed to Kakashi. She couldn't help but smile at the mere thought of him. Her crush on him was undeniable, a secret she held close to her heart. Whenever she thought about Kakashi, her cheeks tinged with a rosy blush, and her heart danced like a leaf on the breeze. It was a crush that had developed over time, slowly and steadily, unlike the fiery infatuation she once held for Sasuke.

. . .

Lost in her thoughts, Sakura didn't notice Naruto approaching her. His familiar voice, filled with an infectious energy, broke through her reverie.

"Hey, Sakura-chan! How about we grab some ramen like old times?" Naruto's toothy grin was a beacon of familiarity and warmth.

Sakura's smile widened at the invitation. It had indeed been too long since she'd spent quality time with Naruto, free from the demands of missions and training. Her stomach grumbled in agreement; she was starving. "Sure, Naruto. It does feel like it's been ages," she replied, her exhaustion momentarily forgotten.
