Chapter 17

Let us dance one last time

The struggle of fighting began to multiply by the hundreds when Sesshomaru kept clashing his nails. He had not used his sword as of yet, it was to be used for something later.

His energy was somehow being drained the more he even breathed. Everything also looked as if it was spinning, but that only enraged him more.

He lunged towards Arashi, finally landing a scratch on him, but much to his dissapointment, the wounds instantaneously healed, giving Sesshomaru a worried look for half a second.

"What the hell?" He barked. "How is that even possible?"

"Oh, Sesshomaru," Arashi laughed, "if only you knew, if only you knew. Unfortunately, I can't tell you otherwise you'd easily find out how to actually get rid of me." The dog demon only growled in anger.

He pulled out his sword this time, the engulfing rage sent out flares of hatred from him. He ran as quickly as he could and sliced Arashi before he could do anything.

Time went into slow motion, everything seemed to be in a blur. As Sesshomaru glanced back, he saw red splatters spray across from his sworn enemy.

And he fell to the floor.

He placed the sword back into it's sheath, gulping in gallons of air from all the adrenaline.

"Good ridance.." He muttered, and walked away, finding his Rin. The one he swore to himself that he would protect, which he had failed.

While searching, he felt something tingle at his heart, no- not love, before anyone gets any ideas, it was more like a stinging sort of pain. One that doesn't go away, but he ignored that, since Rin was more important.

He found his way to Rin's room where both Jaken and Slivvy had occupied with her. She was smiling. A true, genuine smile. And that alone brought a smile to his, even if it was a small, ghostly smile.

"Sesshomaru!" Rin yelped, giving the dog demon a bone-crushing embrace. He wrapped his arms around her, burying his head in the crook of her neck before retracting from his actions in a blink of an eye.

"It's good to see you again, Rin." His deep voice rumbled, making Rin smile kindly. She nodded, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

"It has been too long.." She muttered, lowering her head. It was at that time, both Jaken and Slivvy exit the room to give both of them alone time.

"I'm sorry, Rin.. I searched until I nearly gave up.." He sighed, placing a hand on her head. She hiccuped. Sesshomaru's heart stung much more painfully, like someone had placed a needle in his heart and left it there.

"I won't leave you anymore." He promised.

Little did he know, it was a hollow promise, and it wasn't his fault to break it in the first place.

Jaken and Slivvy made themselves comfortable in the sitting room they found while meandering around.

"Jaken," Slivvy began, breaking the small silence between the two, "tell me, what do you think would have happened if Sesshomaru only waited and thought up a plan before rashing through a delicate situation such as this?"

Jaken only gave Slivvy a confused look, before it turned into a surprised one.

"Hm.. I don't know where you are getting at." He declared. Slivvy only sighed, cause Jaken to question his own motives on what Slivvy is really up to.

"You see, Sesshomaru rushed in here with no plan, and he fought off Arashi, successfully killing him, but what he doesn't know is that Arashi had something up his sleeves." Jaken glanced at him, pressing him to continue.

"Before he, Sesshomaru, came back to Rin's room, I could tell something was bothering him. I only noticed because I am one to observe, not wanting to brag.

"Anyway, from under his clothing, I could easily tell when his heartbeat is changing, whether for different emotions or something life-threatening." Jaken immediately stood up, interrupting the strange creature.

"Wait! Are you telling me there is something wrong with Milord?" Slivvy only nodded, but before any one them could speak, they heard a faint shrill scream. They both hurried to the source only to find both Rin and Sesshomaru in the room.

And much to Jaken's horror, both of them were dead.

Sesshomaru's eyes were wide open, his mouth parting, and Rin's eyes were still wet, probably from crying.

They both didn't look too comfortable about their own situation, but who wouldn't.

Slivvy sighed, then the sigh turned into maniacal laughter.

Jaken turned around, petrified by this.

"W-what have you done to Sesshomaru and Rin!!" He yelled.

Slivvy- or should I say, Arashi, transformed back to his normal self, glancing down at Jaken.

"You fool! I didn't do this, they did." he laughed and pointed at the lovebirds.

"I specifically placed a potion of mine in Sesshomaru's body when he sliced 'me' and before that, I had something placed inside of Rin when I did her. You see, Jaken, Sesshomaru and Rin were never meant for each other, which was why they both died. The things I had placed in them are potions.

"Sesshomaru's was that if he made contact or even thought of the one he loves, he dies. Same goes for Rin. She obviously didn't love me, which made this all too entertaining!"

Arashi laughed once more, sending Jaken into a fit of anger. Before Arashi knew it, he had something sharp impale him. He turned to the green demon, horror stricken in his eyes.

"You're not the only one with tricks up their sleeves." and with that, Jaken let out a spark of electricity, powerful enough to light up an entire city, surge through Arashi. Arashi then collapsed to the floor, his eyes now dead to the world.

Jaken fell to his knees, panting heavily.

"A life for a life.. my debt is repaid." And Jaken no longer was able to open his big mouth again, along with the others who died.

On the table to the left of the corpse, was a piece of paper, and written on the paper was a very delicate handwriting of four words;

Forever with Lord Sesshomaru.

End.

ANYWAY!! I am finally happy that this is finished! I have never felt so accomplished!

So, I am currently writing a prologue for my Homestuck fanfic.
